I am due to have my next remicade infusion next Friday (10 days from now) and I think I am getting sick with the flu. I have felt like crap for the past couple of days, but today I am pretty sure its a flu. My throat is sore, but not hurting like a strep. My muscles are achy and I have the chills. I am going to see my gp this afternoon to see if there is anything she can do (and to make sure its not a throat infection that requires antibiotics). My question is, what do I tell the clinic when they call me next week to make sure I am healthy for my infusion. I know a flu can last that long. Will I not be able to get it? I have been on Remicade since January and unbelievably, this is the first time I have been sick. I am also on imuran, so isn't that going to make it harder to get better if my immune system is being suppressed?
If anyone has any experience with this, I would really appreciate hearing about it.
Thanks!
Edited to add: I just saw the post about the flu shot and I didn't want to add to that discussion. I do usually get the flu shot, they just aren't available here yet. I am more concerned with what does having the flu mean to my infusion.
