Does anyone know if Crohns can cause you to get dizzy upon standing? Sometimes when I'm laying down or if I go to pick one of my children up I get really dizzy and almost pass out. I've passed out 2 times this month and have never had anything like this happen to me before. I am on Remicade, I don't know if it would be a side effect to the medicine or what. I have also been getting really bad migraines could this be linked also? I never used to get headaches and I want to know why all of this stuff is happening to me?? Advice?

Have you had a complete blood count run lately? I am wondering if maybe you might be anemic or possibly maybe your Thyroid is acting up. Just a thought.

What you're experiancing is likely dehydration...once when I went to the hospitial they had me lay down then sit up and asked if I felt dizzy.
Rehydrate with water and pedialyte, avoid gatoraid, too much sugar in that junk.

I don't think I'm anemic, but they said my white blood cell count is really high. I dont know what all that means, but I'm trying! I can't hardly keep any foods down, so that probably is the case. I do drink water all the time maybe I need to get checked out.

Both the headaches and the fainting spells could be from alot of different things, but I would wonder about
flucuations in your blood pressure...Yes I have migraines w/ my crohns, dehydration like pb4 said is also a possiblity but I think you might want to have an ekg done as well just make sure you tell your doc so you can get checked out

Kandice,
I also have vertigo and dizziness when changing "levels" like leaning down -- but only when I'm sick or in a "flare." I actually pass out from strong D and fevers when I'm really sick, too -- which is scary.
But, I don't think you should be feeling that dizzy on a daily basis. You say you're not eating much -- that could definitely be part of it! But, go check it out with the doctor. When I get that "spinning" feeling, I know that I'm either about
to get a fever, having a flare, or something else is up.
