anyone with neurological or MS type symptoms from crohn's or remicade?

i've never had ms symptoms (at least not yet) but i was on remicade for at least 6 years - shortly after it came out. from my experience, i firmly believe it just masks the symptoms - how else do i feel better yet develop a fistula which is what it is supposed to prevent? anyhoo, i've read in several sources that a potential cause of ms and ms type symptoms are from all the chemicals in our foods, like the sugar substitutes that make food sweet but trick us into thinking they are health food cos they are zero or almost zero carb. i am talking about aspartame and the like. this stuff really is bad. it is an excito-toxin in the same class as msg (remember that stuff in our chinese food a few years ago?). i dont know the validity to this, but like i said, i've come across it several times in my research into the nutrition. there are cases where the people get better once the omit these foods, like diet soda, from their diet. they begin to feel better and the symptoms go away. so it may also be worth examining what you eat as well. just a thought from left field...

OK my boobs for the second time since starting remicade are killing me. I was home sick on Monday, flu like symptoms and my boobs swelled up! I have implants and this has happened before after remicade. Does anyone think I could have gotten an infection? I can't even touch them.

Just went to the gastro, he thinks it is cystic mastitis. It sure sounds like it is, you can get it with a low immune system. Hurts like freakin hell. Other than that, he had no idea what to do. I am off the Remicade, well till it leaves my body in another month. He prescribed an antibiotic and I just took one, I'll keep you posted if it helps make this go away. I really hope it does, it's worse than the crohns!

Well I don't have neuritis so I can stay on the Remicade. Nothing unusual showed up on my brain MRI.

Update/prof.hughes/hughes syndrome

I mentioned that I went to Prof Hughes and he suggested Heparin and also stated that he didnt thing that baby aspirin whould help me in my case but as it is to take so long to get the heparin I started on the baby aspirin.
I have noticed significant changes for the better.
For two days in a row I walked down the town on my rollator and I have not done that for over two years, my balance is better, so is the chorea, dystonia and the tingling in the feet and hands.
I am really really pleased about all this.
I too have lesions in the brain and here in Irland I was told they were just lesions but Hughes looked at the scan I had with him two weeks ago and said they were vascular lesions whi ch would tie in.
I have a blinder today but I think I did too much.

 Hi Bunny-I know exactlu what you are going thru. I've had crohns now for about 10years, and had no surgery. I started havving liver issues in 2007. I decided to go to a 2nd Gastro-Doc one who specializes in this disease. After an MRI last year it was found out that the alk-phosphtase was coming from the liver. After my last scope in Oct of this year with a Varrium enema to follow, they found 5-6 more fistulas and a stricture. My Doc wants to out me on the drug Humiria for my Crohns. But I am very reluctant to be put on this drug for fear of liver failure. You can get alot of extra-manefestations from having Crohns. Mine is arthritis, and pre-existing liver conditions. No fun at all!! I have taken probotics in the past along with digestive ensymes and my Doc said that I didn't need to tkae that stuff anymore except for my Calcium. I still take acidolphius when I eat. I think if you are on any medication you should be taking a probotic. Is that Culterelle probotic any good and where can you buy it?
