CD flares/symptoms with Cold or Flu??

Do any of you get double-whammied with flares or other CD symptoms when you have a viral infection like a cold or the flu?  I have noticed that when I have a cold or get the flu that my CD does not bother me.  My appetite does decrease a bit so I'm not taking in as much food.  I couldn't help but wonder if when my immune system actually has something else to fight, it leaves my guts alone.??? Hmmm....

interesting that you brought this up.

right now i have a severe cold(actually went home from work early today) and unfortantly i'm going thru a mild flare for the last 3 days.
what's worse is i'm on imuran and remicade which are both immune surpressive drugs that are probably not helping me fight this cold.

all i can say is we have to live with what life throws at us.

I always experience a flare with a cold or flu...never fails.

Hi I had a doozy cold for 2 weeks and lots of D so if your not flaring that is great but I am also just getting off the pred. I know how you feel croony I am on the Imuran and Rem too I never coughed so much I went and got an antibo. for seven days so that might have helped my lungs although they still were not good.Thank goodness it is going away.Kann I am glad you are doing ok with your CD and hope you get over your cold soon. lol gail

KAnn...now that you mention it, I think I have the same situation. I do not get many colds lately, but when I do I don't have many Cd symptoms hitting me. Hmmmm....would having a cold every day 24 hours a day (not the flu, but a cold) be worth never feeling the CD????? Tough thought...now I am pondering!

If my sinuses are inflamed from cold-like symptoms for more than a few days I go into a mini-flare.  If they are inflamed for a month or so, it means I have a big flare coming.  And it is always a guarateed flare if my daughter has strep.
