did you ever after eating get ridiculously loud noises from your insides? like, every time i exhale it sounds like food trying to move through and it's not painful like gas would be. sometimes i can get it to stop if i move positions. my intestines are talking but what are they trying to tell me!?

It is common for ppl with CD to have overactive sounds from their gut. My old GI's NP said I had the loudest belly she had ever heard...this was at the time of a flare too so flares add to the amount and how audible the noises can be

hey steph. glad to hear that's fairly common. i am really paranoid about my stricture and was wondering if that could be a sign of a blockage or partial blockage. thanks and hope you are well :)

i have a stricture also and my belly makes some strange sounds too....mostly when it's quiet in church :)

mines super loud too and it always seems like it wants to pick the quietest moments to go off. i HATE it!

Well last time mine was really bad it was at the movies and a guy next to me was munching on some chocolate peanuts in a celophane packet, it was so noisy then my stomach started up, it was growling like an old Tom cat, I think I won that competition.! That'll teach him for tormenting me with Choc choc.

Just enough that i sound like the audio section of special effects on "The Excorcist'. Other than that, completely normal! LOL.

Oh yes, me too. Lots of noises from my belly. Of course it's usually in the middle of a lecture at school! lol

And when worried about obstructions, NO noise would be bad. The fact that there is noise means there's activity =o)

I have a loud talking gut too!

Yes, I have strictures too and my daughter can hear my belly from her room sometimes. I agree that if there were NO noise that would be bad...and if there were pain....and nausea...then you could be having an obstruction.....otherwise...enjoy the symphony!LOL

I was on a jury once and my stomach was going crazy the whole time the attorneys were giving their opening statements.  It was so loud that everyone in the courtroom could hear it.  All I could do was sit there in embarrassment.  The guy sitting to my right was struggling to hold back his laughter.  I swear that was the longest morning of my life!

Once when I was doing some research in an archives my gut was so loud I had to leave the building and go out to my car to relax a little. It sounded like a toilet flushing.

mine is loud sometimes too. If I drink a lot of liquid at once I can hear a swishing sound. i think my gut hates too much liquid at ones and lets me know it with noises. Isn't it great when you have a symptom that others have too? Makes you feel a little better not to be alone :) Karen
