When I was a little girl, long before I was diagnosed, as soon as we would get to a restaurant, I would ask my mother to take me to the restroom. I would look around and then leave. I just needed to know where it was and what condition it was in. Looking back now, it seems a little like forshadowing. But now, my kids know that if they are with me, they will always be able to find a clean bathroom in a hurry. I know where all the good ones are. Even if I have never been to that particular store or whatever, I can usually find the restroom pretty quickly. There is a basic plan to the layout in every store so if you just follow your general sense you usually can find one fast. And fast is usually what we need.
