I was diagnosed with mild Crohns myself over 30 years ago. I had two flares my first four years with the disease which were both controlled and over within 3 mos each time. I only used Prednisone & Pentasa each time to control my flares. Then I enjoyed a 20 year remission. In the past 7 years I have had two resections, but I am doing well. Crohns is
not a death sentence. For all my 30+ years with this disease I have had 3 children, married twice (still with #2) and have worked steadily since 1985. Yes, I have had to take a few leaves of absences but that was for my surgeries. Never because my disease was out of control. So I am one Crohnie who has stayed with mild Crohns. I do watch my diet closely and take my Asacol daily, but my life is for the most part pretty good.
