Does anybody know what chrohn's in the mouth looks like.I have some ulcers on my toungue.Thanks

Hi there is someone on here who has some mouth problems and one who has tongue problems .I am sure someone will be along to help you with that. I don't have any but do get tonsil problems. lol gail

i dont know for sure if mine were mouth ulcers from crohns, but during a bad flare a couple of months ago, I got what seemed like larger, but less severe/sensitive canker soars. Mostly on the upper inside of my lips (the part that rub against teeth).

They only lasted about 8 hours each--although they lasted 3 days but on different parts of my mouth

Aphthous ulcers are the most common mouth lesion seen in Crohn's. Crohn's can cause granulomatous inflammation in the mouth but it is far less common than the aphthous ulcer. Aphthous ulcers are commonly called "canker sores."

Here is a link to a photo of a single, small aphthous ulcer: Aphthous ulcer picture  Please know that an aphthous ulcer can be larger or a person can have many of them together. I once had a bad outbreak of them on the side of my tongue. There were so many they all seemed to run together.

I've had mouth ulcers with flares. They were extremely painful. Are we talking about the same thing?

I get the mouth ulcers right before a bad flare. They hurt like heck.

I also get them when very stressed. A Dr treated mine with some medicine when I was in college and it helped a lot. I have not gotten them as bad since then but I do get them some. I use Listerine and it burns like crazy but it seems to heal it much faster and numbs the pain afterwards for a little while.

I get canker sores on my tongue from time to time.
They hurt, especially when you eat.
I use Kank-A Mouth Pain Liquid, which takes the pain away instantly.
Then it usually heals it in a day or two.

You can buy it over the counter just about anywhere.
