I went to my GI yesterday after a month of Humira. that was my last try at going back to my original crohns diagnosis. the humira did nothing. I have had pain in the exact same place for a year and a half and nothing has helped. I have had two surgeries to look for adhesions and he cut some, but the pain is still there and worsening. I fell apart telling my GI that it is crazy to not know what is wrong. he said from my colonscopy he knows what is wrong, adhesions, and that they just aren't being treated well. he wants me to have surgery again, with the assumption that the adhesions are deeper, so I am sure the surgery would be a tough one.

I have loved being here and learning and laughing with you all. I can't disappear, so I will keep you posted if I get the surgery.

Don't say goodbye!!! If you are experiencing the same pain and symptoms as the rest of us your wisdom will be so helpful. We don't care that you are "unofficial." You have been through so much if not more than us. Please stick around.

Hi yp You cain't leave us now we care about you and your health. You are a comfort to us and a friend. You just need to relax awhile about things and we are definitely here for you as you have been for us.We are here if you have to have more surgery or whenever. lots of love gail

Aw Yoga, you can't just up and dump us girl. You have been there for everyone of us, now its our turn. Its like one of the others said, we will leave you as "Unofficial" and there is alot of that going on with peeps. You know scar tissue is really one of those gray areas in my opinion. Some peeps tend to form it much quicker than others and also much more severe. They can only take so much out or else you will be dealing with a whole new set of problems...Susie

Yogaprof,You cannot leave us.....you are part of this "family " whether you like it or not. Everything you have been through, your pain , your worry, Your caring for the rest of us makes you an essential part of this team. Please stay with us. I check this forum everyday....and when I don't see a familiar name I worry. Now worry is not good for someone with whatever chronic condition....you Must let us know how you are doing and keep "talking " with us, it makes all the difference in the world. If all crohnies in remission were to suddenly stop coming to Healing Well....who would give us hope that things can get better.
Your body is not well.....that is all it takes to be part of this forum....and even when it is well....you have an unofficial duty to all of us who have come to care for you and opened our hearts to you to stay at our sides, as we will continue to stay by yours.

It took me longer than a month for the Humira to kick in. We actually increased my dose to every week instead of every other week for a few months. It made ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD. I was about to give up and all of a sudden I started feeling better. Don't throw in the towel, keep fighting.

It can take months sometimes for humira to work and find the right dosage, don't give up!

Yoga!! You have to keep in touch! I completely understand your frustrations. I also wanted to suggest something for your pain, because I had horrible pain before, and nothing worked to relieve it but this. I learned how to do self hypnosis. I am able now to go into my "brain's control center" and turn down my pain. I know it sounds nuts, but it really works. I also know that it doesn't get at the root cause of the pain, but it at least provides some relief for a little while. Keep us posted on how things are going for you. Take care!

wow, I am so touched and overwhelmed by all your notes...I do love this place! ok, I am not leaving! I will continue to be the voice for the dianosed and undiagnosed :)
as for the humira, the reason we are giving up is since my first tests 19 months ago, they have never again seen signs of crohns, but the pain has never stopped and it always in the same place. my initial signs of crohns just never manifested again, so it just doesn't seem like the issue. if I would have had any indication that humira did ANYTHING, we would have stuck with it. I hope that make sense.
thanks for the link, Spas, that is very interesting. adhesions are the only thing that seems plausible at this point. I am getting my head around the idea of surgery again...darnit.
I agree, jelly, that the mind can do a lot to help. my yoga teaches me about listening to my body and settling it down and I am always ready to learn more.

one more thing on a funnier note; I really wanted to talk my GI into giving me a colonscopy awake, as I have such a hard time with versed and was curious as to what is going on in there. he leaped up with a huge "no way!" as the last one I had was nearly impossible due to my colon being stuck in there. he says he doesn't want me to have another scope anyway, since he knows what is wrong. I think I shocked the heck out of him with the idea, but I STILL want to do it someday :)
