Hi I am a newbie, I recently had my surgery on May 8,2007.I know I have many questions to ask, but first I will tell you I am a  42 year old woman that had an emergancy iliostomy done,and I am trying to cope with what has happened to me.I have every digestive tract disorder and disease, guess I must be one of the rare people out there. Anyways I had an obstruction, along with an abcess, and I also had a perferation all due to my crohns disease and u.c. I feel like I am the only one, and I don't want this any more. I don't know what to eat because I am afraid something will happen to me, so I stay in the safe zone. There is no medicine out there for me and I have crohns in my small intestine also. I hope that you all will help me along this winding road of the unknown,that seems very dark and bleak at times. I've seen alot of the postings from others, and I thank god that there is others with the same issues. I thak anyone who would respond 

Hi Bluz So glad you are here with us I know what it is like to feel alone and HW has been great for me I needed the support. I had the abcess surgery and fistula's,as well as partial blockage. I have CD in my large and small intestines. It was hard to deal with but I had a 27 year bout of IBS behind me .Why cain't you take any meds ?Is your iliostomy temperary? I was fortunate not to have to have one because of the meds kicking in. I know that low roughage diet helped me have more confidence in foods and releaved the pain. How are you feeling since your surgery?How long have you had problems with your intestines?Things will feel better as you recover I find it takes awhile for a persons mind to recoup. Ask all the questions you want to. lol gail
