Humira less painful!!

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to everybody who advised me to ice my leg before the Humira injection,OMG,what a differance,and also,you guys were right,the syringe is MUCH LESS painful than the pen.  WOOHOO!!!!!

I found the injections into the thigh to be much more painful than injections into the stomach. I've only tried the pen. It hurts, but just for a few seconds - nothing compared to pain from this DD.

I usually have been leaving the pens on the counter out of the refrig for about 20 minutes before I inject and it still burns a good bit.  Last week I called the house on my way home and asked my wife to go ahead and pull the pens I would need out of the fridge.  I knew I had to inject and dash back out, so I was in a hurry.  As luck would have it, it took me an hour to get home....this meant the Humira was truly at room temp...about 75 degrees.  I gave myself both shots in the stomach and there was NO PAIN....NONE!!!  No burn, no sting...nothing.  My next injections I will leave the pens out for an hour and hopefully it will help keep the pain down again.

hspenser, thank you so much for the head's up on leaving the Humira at room temp. for an hour prior to injection. I have my dosage tomorrow and I will be trying that trick, anything to help with the burning of injection. I'll let you know if it works for me like it did for you. Thanks again~!

be sure you don't leave it out for more than an hour...and if it is very warm where you are, an hour might be too much...

I don't mean to suggest an exact time since temperatures will vary from home to home....
