THe question i have is, do all chrohnies have foul bowel movements?   man i can barely handled it, let alone the wife.  I am totally afraid to light a match afterwards.  I should have went and bought shares in t/p and deodorizers.  yeah It gets pretty enbarassing at times.  what the heck can i do?   Does not matter what i eat either.

Yes, since my first flare up and subsequent diagnosis my bm's are very foul.  Much worse than before I ever got sick.  Kinda weird................Crohn's stinks in more ways than one!

I was gaging myself to the point of almost vomiting today. What are some tips, do matches work?

Yes, matches work very well. Oust does a decent job too.

My daughter has the worst bm's. Smelled like something had died. I don't have that problem but I have the worse smelling gas. I keep Febreeze in my office at work.

I believe belleenstein said in an earlier post that there are drops you can buy that work well. I checked the supermarket and didn't find any, but I think she mentioned wal-mart or k-mart. I find the citrus sprays work better but of course are more expensive.

Yes we do stink more then the average person in the bathroom. But thats part of Crohns and there isn't much we can do about it. My son says your smell went right through the liesole spay LOL!!! Oh well what can you do.

Just a Drop is the name of the drops.  I had to order them off the internet.  You get two little bottles for something like $13.00.  Totally worth it.  They last a long time too.  You seriously only need one drop in the bowl before you go.  I never leave home without a bottle.

Hi!  I have an ileostomy due to Crohn's and I have the same problem.  I found a wonderful concentrated frangrance spray at Bath and Body Works.  It's small so I can carry it in my purse and a man could easily have one in his pocket.  It's made by White Barn Candle Company.  It is only 1.5 ounces and costs $5.00, I think, but a little goes a long way!  I barely touch the spraying head.  They have several scents too.  I'm a widow and travel a lot and share rooms with other widows.  This has been a God-send for me!  No embarrassment here!  Hope this helps!

My BM don't smell usually, but I get bad gas at times and it's like something dead is inside me.

Just A Drop is worth every penny. I don't believe it can be bought over the counter, though. I've always had to go online to buy it.

The smell is really embarrassing when I am in a public restroom or at someone's house. I feel like I am in the bathroom along time anyway and then the smell lurks out. Thank you for the ideas above.

i have the same problem and it seems that mine stems from a bacterial overgrowth. last week i was at defcon 5. even our cats (who are normally very tolerant of my odors) were suiting up in their little hazmat suits.

my gi put me on a short course of cipro that seems to have done the trick.
