Remicade and Alcohol

Two weeks ago I had my first infusion. All is going well so far. Last night my wife was looking at the papers they handed out at the infusion center saying to refrain from alcohol as it may impair the effectiveness of the drug. I enjoy my before dinner vodka tonic and anymore don't have many vices to enjoy. Am I contributing to my own demise?

By the way, while I am on a Crohns flair, I am really taking the Remicade to control the Scleritis in my right eye.

I am on Remicade and have an occasional drink, maybe every other month when I am feeling good enough to do so. I wasn't told not to drink by my doctor but refrained from drinking for a long time because of all the meds I take. Now I can have a glass of wine here or there with dinner and still feel ok. I won't drink hard liquor like I used to as to avoid getting ill.
