Howdy all,
I mentioned in another post that I had recently restarted sulfasalazine after giving up on low-dose naltrexone.
One thing I didn't mention (which I think requires a separate post) is that I've found generic sulfasalazine to be very upsetting to my stomach. The big famous brand name for sulfasalazine is Azulfidine, made by Pfizer. I found that this brand does not upset my stomach, even though I am not taking the enteric coated tablets (Azulfidine-EN). Not sure why this is, but that's the reality.
Price-wise, my local Albertson's pharmacy wants $42 for 60 tablets of Azulfidine, while generics can be had for $12. But the generic makes me feel ill. So a couple of days ago, I went down to Mexico (I live 10 miles from the border). Price down there for Azulfidina (it's Spanish name) is $12 for 60, and it's the real deal (even has the Pfizer logo). They don't sell generic "sulfasalazina" in Juarez, which is just as well.
Just mentioning this in case anybody is down there. You can buy it across the counter in Mexico without a prescription. I declared it at US Customs and they just waved me through, didn't even want to see the bottles.
regards,
Robert
