Off prednisone but having a period every 8 days lasting for 15

I have been off pred since May, during treatment I had no period but since may I have had my cycle every 8 to 10 days and it lasts anywhere from 14 to 17 days. I'm anemic and tired. I have been on several different birth control pills and nothing is working. I have taken ortho tri cyclen, ortho cept, the patch, the ring, tri levlen, trivora, lo-estrin, nordette, orthro tri cyclen lo, and desogen. Any suggestions. I dont know how much longer I can do this

Hi RedAurora, I think you need to get into seeing your doctor ASAP. If it gets worse I would go to the
ER. Especially since your anemic.

I agree with Teddy Bear. That sounds like you will need a gynecologist right away. You shouldn't be bleeding that much..Good LucK

I have seen the OBGYN they are the ones that have given me all the different types of Birth Control pills. Its not working and I dont know what else to do. I'm not having a hysterectomy im only 26 and I have no kids. My cycle has always been normal until prednisone. I've heard the oh just wait it out and your body will readjust. well its not. Its getting worse. the between my periods are getting shorter and the bleeding is lasting longer and no one can help me. I want to know if anyone else has had this side effect from pred and what has worked for them

Has the gynecologist done a scraping or biopsy of your uterus, or done any hormone testing? Maybe you should think about consulting with a Reproductive Endocrinologist. Even if you are not ready to be pregnant now, the specialist can help you sort out your hormone imbalance or figure out what may be wrong. The predisone could have thrown your hormones way off balance. How long since you have been off the Predisone?

I stopped taking prednisone the first week of may and have been bleeding since. What sucks is that before the pred I had a totally normal cycle. Every 25 days and it lasted for 3 to 4 days. Ever since I was 16.

i know that when you take pred it plays havoc with your periods before i had the crohns my periods were normal and regular now im in bed at least a 2 weeks before them suffering from stomach cramps and severe backache and i bleed for over a week now as before i only bled for a few days!!!!!!!i dont know whats worse periods or crohns lol
