virtual colonoscopy Wednesday anyone ever have one. My doc cant not get through doing the traditional kind not even with a pediatric scope. So I have to prep AGAIN URRGGGGG I just prepped 2 weeks ago . I hate Miralax. They do not put you asleep ,oh joy. They put this plug in your sore and tore up butt and pump air into you and expect you to lay still like no big deal . Thank you very much but I prefer to be a sleep while my rectum is being inflated.

Please send me good vibes that I get good images since I have both hips replaced that could be iffy.

Think of me at 10:30 est time Nov 28th.

Best wishes on your test. I look forward to hearing how the test went, since this is such a new test. Sorry about the double prep though. (HUGS)

I had it done a few months ago after they couldn't complete the normal colonoscopy on me.

I was still a bit loopy from the colonoscopy sedation, but from what I remember it was a pretty quick procedure.  You definitely feel some gas pain when they pump you up, but it only lasts a few seconds while you hold still and they get the images.  Then they "deflate" you, you turn over, they pump you up again, and they inflate you one more time for another scan.  Overall it wasn't too bad, just some quick discomfort from the gas.

Do you mean turn over as in lay on your tummy or do you lay on your side. I am interested since I can not lay on my tummy due to a fused spine (AS). Also how big is that plug they use in the butt to inflate I am worried it will hurt my sore bottom.

I've never heard of a virtual colonoscopy..what is it exactly?

its basically a catscan of your colon. You have to prep just like a regular scope then they put this tube in your butt and pump air into you to inflate the colon to there are no wrinkles or bends then they take catscan pics of the colon you are awake they dont put you asleep like a regular scope.. I had it done because I have strictures that do not allow me to have a regular scope doc cant get through.
