Some word on my colonoscopy/endoscopy procedures

I found out today when I went to see my Internist that the Gastroenterologist who did my procedures said there is inflammation in my colon. My Internist said I have Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which would be either Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis, if I assume correctly...(it would have to be one of the two, wouldn't it?). Anyhow she is really leaning towards Crohn's. I guess I will find out more when the biopsies come in.

I feel kind of relieved but at the same time sad AND scared. Anyone else here ever felt that way before?

I understand exactly. It's a relief to finally know what's going on, scary because you know you have a chronic disease. At least now you know how to treat it. Good luck, keep us posted.

hello indigo. yes better to wait till the results come back before getting all worried. as for being sad and scarred? when arent we? it will get you down if you let it. stay positve and it helps.

Hi I agree it is scarry at times but one really needs to know so they can get medical help. Yes a person needs to keep a positive attitude about things it will get you threw it and keep you healthy. I have found that being here helps alot it keeps me calmer and helps inspire me ,not getting depressed is definitely good for a person also learning about IBD gets my mine off the physical things . I am reading a book about vitties and food now.I go to the IBD meetings now too.I got to read a good book for crohn's and colitis I borrowed from them so you could look for support in your community. Just stay in touch and remember your not alone we are here for each other. I would think if your DR.'s saying inflamation it would be IBD. One thing for sure it is good you had your scopes done . lol gail
