For those of you who have had a nurse come to your home to show you how to do the Humira injections, how long did it take for you to get a nurse to come? I was wondering how soon I could get a nurse here.

My GI's nurse showed me in office how to do it the first time, now I just do it at home.

I had my doc injecting me like Kasper87, but last time, the pharmacy would only give me the pen (said my Rx wouldn't let me have the syringe. <shrug>) and I did that on my own. It was easier, but it scared me when it clicked, so i closed my eyes, and held it in longer than i needed to :)

I went to the GI's office to have the nurse show me how to do it. I was on the regular maintenance dose but with my fistula they decided I need double the regular dose so I give myself 1 shot a week now. Since I have the syringes I dont mind it so much anymore the pens hurt me so much more. At the office the nurse did 1 shot then I did 1 then she did the 3rd and I did the final one. She made me give myself the injection so she could know that if in a pinch I could give it to myself if I was unable to get somewhere to have it done...I was going to have my aunt who is a nurse do it but I found it easier just to do it myself... I still get my B12 done by the doc or my aunt still tho figure I see the doc about
the same time each month...except this month but they are giving me a ride to the vet to bring my cat for his rabies shot so I figure she can just give me my b12

I didn't know there was an option of having a nurse come to the house to do it. Nurse showed me how to use pre-filled syringe for first treatment, now I have my roomate inject me bi-weekly. I can't inject myself, the medication going in burns so awful bad I know I would flinch or stop altogether if I tried to inject myself.

Nurse was at my house within a 1week and a half. Humira pays for the nurse. It was very helpful
