going to see new gi today

Hi all,

Since I moved to Colorado and got a new job with new insurance I can go back to the gi.  I haven't seen one in about a year and have been off all crohn's meds since February.  I am on prednisone right now (scripted by my internal med doc) because of a flare.  I had a horrible visit with a new rheumy yesterday and am really hoping I like this doctor.  It's a woman and I hope she is more understanding than the rheumy was. 

Not sure what med I may end up on.  I was on Pentasa for years and my symptoms got a little better when I quit taking it so I don't want it again.  I'm probably due a scoping too, woo hoo.  I'll keep y'all updated as to how the visit goes.

I saw my new gi yesterday and was very pleased with her. We talked for about an hour and she took excellent notes. She upped my prednisone to 30 mg a day, I was getting sick again on 20 mg a day. This will be for 2-6 weeks depending, she wants me to be completly symptom free before stopping it and then hopefully never take it again. She also is starting me on Imuran. And she is sending me for a done density scan because of the pred. They took 5 big vials of blood for all kinds of test, I should get the results in a day or two. What a relief to find a good doctor.
