yeah  Hi. I am new to this forum. I am a mom of 2 teens w/cf. Has anyone tried curcumin, the spice that is supposed to correct the cf defect in lab mice? I would like to hear about it. Thank you.

Hi. I tried giving my 11 year old son with CF curcumin for 6 months. It seemed to me his lungs stayed clearer. His pft's were better than 2 years on his first visit about 3 months after taking. Pft's dropped slightly on his next visit. I was giving him doulble the dose that bottle said which added 4 large pills to his daily pills. I stopped giving it to him 3 months ago. We go to doctor first of Nov. and if Pft's drop I am going to start him back on. He did not have any side effects.

Hi, So, My mom and I went to the big annual CF meeting, with all the other parents, spouses, Doctors, and those with CF that sneak in....we asked about the Curcumin, and NO ONE has heard anything about this. Not the CF doctors, not those with CF, and not anyone else that attended. I would really like some information if possible. Please

Although I have heard some contradictory things too, doing some research. SO not sure what to believe.

There was a case study in humans and it showed that it was not helpful to people with Delta F508, but some other mutations, it worked well with. I guess I need to do more research and wait for some more studies for it.
