Diagnosed with Diabetes?

My son was 24 years old when they picked up a high blood sugar.  He is glucose intolerant and at this point only needs to modify his diet.  I also have a 22 year old son with CF he so far his blood sugars have been within normal lmits.  Are your children diabetic?

I was 17 when I was diagnosed with type I diabetes. I cant say balancing CF and diabetes is easy but it is manageable.

Here is the way my doctor explained the risks to me:
from birth to 12 years old there's about a 50% chance of developing Diabetes.
Every 3 years after that the chance goes up by 10%. So I was at a 70% chance when I did get it. I dont know if this is true but it would make sense. Of course if you factor in that diabetes does run in my family (type II and type I) well I'm sure it was just a matter of time. If I could go back and do it over I'd cut out 75% of the sweets that I was enjoying LOL just so I could enjoy them a bit longer.

I am 18 years old, I was diegnosed with diabeties the summer after my 7th grade year. I know I had been diabetic for a while before that, I was always angry, and could get violent. I really didn't know what was wrong with me, I was so glad when they finally got it under contryol and once again my bigest problem was my CF.

I was 23, but know little about it. So I've been reading about it. My consultant said I know more than some of her patients. But I think there is still a lot more to be learnt.
