Hello everyone. My 9 year old son REALLY wants to play tackle football. Were in Florida and it's really hot so I am really worried about
dehydration. He seems to be feeling great, I just am so worried. Any advice would be appreciated.

Water, water, water!! I can't stress that enough! Also Gatorade is really great as well, as it replaces the electrolytes that he will lose when being active.

thanks. We'll give him lots of Gatorade. He has had problems with cramping in the past and it wasn't any activitiy as strenous as this.

I know that sore muscles can be related to dehydration sometimes, and it can also be growing pains. Have you talked to his doc about
the pains?

Hello Hon and welcome to Healing Well!
That is great that your son stays so active!
Gatorade has a newer drink out called Endurance, it has almost double the sodium as the original Gatorade. You might want to try that if you haven't already. Good luck!

Well little 9 yr old tyler got through his first practice great. He got the wind knocked out of him once. Pickepd himself up and kept playing. I told the coach about
him having C.F. and he acted like he could care less. For the last two months he has been taking PULMOZME adnd it has seemed to really help thin his mucus. Little bit of a runny nose, but clear lung function. I am going to look into the Endurance. The Doc says to Pre-hydrate at least an hour before practice. Seemed to work great..thanks
