Your not alone with this at all. I suffer with very bad depression. Some days I can't get out of bed, other days I just don't want to be here.
I see a psychiatrist at the hospital, who works closely with my CF team, to make sure I get the best treatment possible. Not that it always works, but she does have some influence on them:)
I'm on Sertraline 100mg a day. I can't hav anymore than this, or I have an opposite effect to what I want. There on a mission to get me back on Mirtazapine. AS that used to suit me really well, until they decided it was setting some levels going high. But now they've realised they weren't the cause.
At he moment all I'm doing is itting and trying to keep myself as busy as possble. I have had a big depression flare recently, where I got really angry and started punching walls.
I don't really suffer from Panic, unless you bring a balloon within 2 meters of me. Can't be in the same room if kids decide to go on a popping frenzy, as I have a huge panic atack, setting off my asthma. Same with fireworks and lightning.
I have a lot of paranoia about things, which generally is one of the things that sets off my depression. If a doctor has something to say that might set off my paranoia, he brings a nurse, dietician or physiotherapist into the room with him, to comfort me.
That is pretty much the base of my depression. One thing that I find also helps, is to have all my little animals round me. Cat, 2 guinea pigs and a hamster. If I've feeling very very low, I grab one of them for a cuddle, as they generally make me giggle at the same time.
Hope this helps!

PS, I would highly suggest asking your CF team if they have any contacts for councillors or psychiatrists. They only trouble with having a psychiatrist instead of a councillor, is that they are stationary, and don't really have time to talk, if you don't have an appointment.
