Lynne- Thought that was just for MRSA, not for Staph itself?
Neefa-I am hoping that's not what they are doing. I know they don't generally treat me with any extra antibiotics (I'm on flucloxacillin always), unless I am showing signs of an infection.
Signs are different for different people and different infections. With just Staph I personally don't get too many symptoms. However now I have psuedomonas, when it sparks up, I find I have no appetite, bring loads up at physio time, feel really tired and generally feel short of breath.
The sore throat could be because of any extra coughing you are having to do.
If you are worried about it, ask your doctor, there are blood tests they can do to check for infection markers. I've found that doctor's do need a little extra prodding sometimes (I have my own personal polking stick set aside nowadays ), before they will actually throw in any reasurrance themselves. They're happy too tell you they found something, but forget the important bit about telling you not too worry, or what will actually happen about it.
Hope you start too feel better soon, and that the staph doesn't decide to stick around too much longer.
