beating depression

I guess I could be a success story. At this time anyway. I suffered depression for years. Had many different therapists. Worked with cognitive therapy. But eventually went on medications. The best one that has helped me the most so far is called abilify.

I suffer with fibromyalgia also. That puts a real damper on my life but I have learned to take things one day at a time. Living in the now really helps. Not living in the past or worrying about the future. Which I have done both.

There usually isn''t any quick fix for this. It all takes time. Some of us have to deal with past issues before we move on. Some of us learn to put the past behind us and take it as it comes.

Your wife sounds manic, or bipolar. There are medications that help that. Like I say it takes a little time. So you have to be patient, as I know that you have. But if you can get her into therapy, which you have mentioned, with work on all your parts including the doctor, I think that she will come around. She already knows what her words and treatment are doing to the family so that is a start.

Don't give up, let us know how your sessions go. And most of all remember we are here for you.

I am so touched that so many of you are believing in my posts.  It actually brings tears to my eyes and reaffirms my belief that I am still here for so, so many reasons.  The comfort I bring my friends on this forum leaves me speechless and my heart warm.

 

It is true I am doing better but I will tell you that it has been and continues to be a very steep hill that some days feels unclimbable.  But I keep climbing and struggling.  It is worth it believe me, when you feel that you cant go on, believe me I know, the advice I can give from my heart is this......always think tomorrow could be the day of reckoning and the happiness you strive for.  You have to think that EVERY DAY.  You may have a week of "those days" you may have months or even years but it is worth it trust me, if I use the advice I give to you, my friends, I can have the world that I could have had 4 years ago.  I will have it again!!!!

 

Hang tough my friends, and especially KEEP YOUR FAITH UNCEASING!!!!!!!!

 Teresa- I have no idea who or where you are- but please know that there is a family that is still together today, and you are a part of the reason why.

As long as I can continue to BELIEVE that a better day is coming for HER- then I will never leave her side. I know that sounds like I'm saying I'm only here for the better, but that's not true. Right now she only see's the dark and unfortunately it effects more than just her and the friends on my other post have helped me realize that my 1st responsibility has to be to my children. I'm strapping up right now for another week of battle- once again confident in victory.
