Looking ahead down the clear road to brighter days.

I just have to say that I am so proud of all of us.  We have all seemed to rise above the dark cloud that wants to settle in this time of the year. 

From reading other threads I have watched all of us coming together to help each other and that is so very special to me.  I must say that we are a wonderful group of caring and compassionate people that heal by healing eachother.  I love all of you.

I think that we all do that at times. We are afraid to trust anybody to open up and vent. But here you don't have to worry about that. We all understand how eachother feel.

Hi everybody,

Great to see you all here! Sometimes when we go through depression or any difficult thing we can easily start to think it defines who we are. But not so! Who we are is not the depression but the strong overcomers - or, as Kitt put it "champtions" - who are pressing on in spite of the difficulties. Even when things look bleak, we can look ahead, like the title of this post says, and find a dream or a hope or a good thing to keep our eyes fixed upon and I think each day we find a way to do that we are winning over the depression.

I had something neat happen today. It might sound superficial, but I hope not. Okay, because I have a lot of fatigue and pain much of the time, I try to cook as little as possible. BUT I have to cook a lot because I need to eat a very good diet in order to feel halfway good. Well, after almost two years, I finally got new cookware. It was about 1/3 the price and I got a huge huge huge pot in which I can make gigantic stews and beans etc. all at one time and then just freeze in smaller portions. Okay, so I felt like someone just gave me this big present. My husband actually found it while we were looking for winter boots here in the great white north. After a really hard month, it felt so good just to have this nice surprise come to us without any hassle. And who doesn't love a great sale. haha! When nice things like this happen it reminds me that there is kindness in this world and good things to look forward to, even things that seem like they were custom designed just to make our day. Like my day today. :0)

You are all an amazing group of people! And we all have lots of good things to look forward to in life. Thanks Karen for starting this thread! :0)

I've been here just a short time and I have noticed that people here are so nice and actually are concerned for everyone else. It's nice.
I appreciate everyone's efforts with helping me when I was really low and the care of others. I love you all too, and wish that you were all feeling as good as I do now, at least. I'm a good listener, and I am kind, so if you need to talk, just let it all out to me if you want.
