Depression cycles? OR Mood changes?

I have chronic pain and have been depressed for a long time. Lately I have felt that I feel ok for maybe like 3 days and then I'm back to this hopelessness and just almost to the point of not being able to function on a daily basis. I then feel ok (not great) again for a few more days. I feel like I'm really going crazy sometimes. It's not like I'm manic or anything.... I just don't understand this??

Does anyone have any advice or ideas? I do plan on making an appointment with my doctor but it's going to be like one month away or so, and he really doesn't seem to be able to help me or understand me. I need to find a new doctor I think.

Take a few moments and check out the fibromyalgia forum.  It sounds like you could have that.  I go through a lot of those symptoms.  And fibro does cause depression.  You have wonderful days, not pain free, but good.  Then all of a sudden you have very painful days with a lot of fatigue.  This could be something to mention to your doctor.  There is a thread called fibromyalgia 101.  That covers a lot of the symptoms.  You could get some kind of idea as to if that is your problem.  Some doctors don't believe in it, but many do. 

This is just my opinion, but I think that you should check out the forum.  Let us know what you think.

Karen, thanks for the info. I have thought about Fibro and have done some reading. I haven't mentioned it to my doctor yet though. Should I mention to my GP first and go from there? I do seem to have many of the symptoms. Thanks :)
