Switching antidepressants

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question regarding switching meds, I apologize if this is obvious or has been asked many times.

My pdoc switched me from Zoloft to Celexa. I was on 75mg and I took it around dinnertime. Tomorrow, in the morning, he wants me to begin 10mg of the Celexa and stop the Zoloft for good.

My question is, is it safe to do this without weaning off the Zoloft first? I have heard horror stories of people coming straight off an antidepressant like Zoloft without weaning, although he said it should not be a problem and I should be able to feel the Celexa's benefits shortly.

Does anyone have any experience with something similar to this? Or, experiences with Celexa? I'd love to hear stories to know I'm not alone

Hi, I have switched meds....in the same family....and I have never had a problem. Hopefully you will get good results from Celexa. I wish you well.

Hope your switch is going ok? I was on Prozac and changed to Celexa and had no problems.
