I have anxiety/depression. I've been taking Zoloft for sometime. Recently I was diagnosed with

HER2 breast cancer. Had chemo and I'm going through radiation. I did'nt think the Zoloft was helping enough, so the doctor slowly took me off Zoloft and put me on Cymbalta. I do believe I'm doing better. Wondered if anyone else is doing well on Cymbalta. Thanks,Dee

I have never taken cymbalta, but I would like to say I am sorry for what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am your cymbalta girl..............I have been up and down the scale but I have a dx of Major Depressive disorder.  I am weaning off Cymbalta.  That does not mean it will not be a good drug for you.

I am sorry about your cancer but do give the cymbalta a try.  It usually gets good reviews.

Hello Dee, I'm new on this board (usually on another one) but would like to say I'm sorry about the cancer and I hope the treatment goes good for you. I've been on Cymbalta twice (this is my second time around) and I do fairly well on it. One thing I've noticed is I don't have as many aches and I tend to be able to laugh a little more (a lot of antidepressants tend to "flatline" or "numb" me). Hope Cymbalta works for you.

Zoloft always worked for me until recently. I triggered some major anxiety and panic. I stopped taking it and those symptoms stopped too thank goodness. I would like to hear more feed back on Cymbalta as it was recommended by my doctor.

I was on Cymbalta for a while for both pain & depression. It didn't really help me with either, but that's not to say that it won't help you. Be careful if you ever come off of it. It can cause some nasty side effects if you taper too quickly (but then again I was taking massive doses of it because the dosage for treating pain is much higher than the dosage for treating depression).

Cymbalta works well for me, and I'm a BC survivor, have a heart stent, have had 2 strokes, a hysterectomy, BSO, and colectomy w/ileorectal anastamosis.

That said, Cymbalta keeps me quite stable since chronic illness and depression often keep each other company. It does allow me a wider range of emotions than some previous drugs did. I do take Xanax prn, but mostly for heavy heavy traffic situations.

PSS -- try googling facing our risk of cancer empowered. It's an uplifting, educational support group for breast cancer and the folks are great.

I have been taking cymbalta for a long time.  itake 40 millagrams a day and I luv it.  It takes away my appitite and stops me from staying in bed sleeping al day and that is good.  If I sleep during the day I canot sleep at night.  CYmbalta cheers me up I think and my chronic pain doesfeel a litte bit more tolerabl when I am on cymbalta  good luck with it hope it works for you like it  does for me.

I have been on cymbalta for 3 months and I take 60mgs at night, and it seems to be doing ok, it's one of hte only anti-deppresants that dont make me jittery. The only problem I have with it is constipation and if I forget to take my dose I get very nausaus the next day.
