Effexor Medicine want to know how it's working for others

I started taking Effexor 75 mg per day want to know how it's working for other people are you having any weird symptoms it's been ok for me except I feel nauseaous all the time and I don't eat a lot I don't get hungry. Any Feed back I'd appreciate Thanks Guys. PR Glo

Hi Pr Glo,

I have been taking effexor for years. I am up to 375mg per day. It works well for me. But since they put me on abilify, it seems to work even better.

i took it for 2 weeks before i ended up in the ER from side effects and my Pdoc gave me something else- i really tried to persevere with it, but i literally projectile vomited for basically 2wks and needed a drip etc- also had blurry vision.

just cos it didnt work for me, doesnt mean it wont work for you- im on zoloft now and its pretty great, but i know other people cant tolerate it and have horror stories about it- but it helps me.

meds are such an individual thing- hope that helps

I have been taking effexor for 2 years. I tak the modified release dose. I was up to 225mg at one point but am now taking 75mg and hope to stop taking it altogether this year.
When I started I had side effects such as twitching, nausea and dizziness but these disappeared after a few weeks. If I ever forgot to take a dose, It would make me feel quite ill.
I do think that this medication is very effective for severe depression. More so than many of the other SSRI'S.

Hi

I have been taking Effexor for about 3 months now and i am currently taking 150mg. I did get a few side effects at first which took about 4 weeks to ease, i have heard a lot of positive things about Effexor and people have had good results with this medication. I have not had much joy with AD and have yet to find one that really works for me but as Maz said we are all different and what works for one person may not work for an other. I find that therapy works well for me and i am due to do some CBT soon.

I hope that Effexor works for you take care and keep posting to tell us how you are getting on.

I have been taking effexor 75 for over 13 years. It has worked well for my post natal depression, but now all 13 years later I am getting head shakes and panic attacks...Does anyone else have these symptoms. Also Does anyone know if panadeine forte can be taken with Effexor 75.

Hi Jackson,

Welcome to the depression forum. If the effexor is fizzling out for you, you may want to try pristiq. I went from effexor to pristiq really easy. Talk to your doc, let them know what is going on. It could be due to the drug, or to somtehing else. You might need something more for anxiety. I hope it continues to work for you.

Let us know what doc says.
