Psychologist wont get out of my head

I know it sounds wierd but,

I miss my psychologist !

Ive seen three other psychologists before, none of them have stayed in my mind like my last one.

She was different, and in the end i just started to trust her.

She was around the same age as me too, so i connected with her.

Is it because im lonley?

I hate this, its really annoying me..

I dont know what to do about it.. , does anyone else know where im coming from, maybe felt the same ?

Good Morning,

Leaving therapy and your therapist  can be a frightening and emotional experience. However, in a healthy therapy relationship, leaving therapy can be a form of rebirth. If you had a positive experience with your therapy, it will form a strong foundation on which you can build a healthy and happy life.

I am assuming you may go back to therapy in the future if you would like to.  My therapist left the door open for me to make an appointment anytime I felt like I needed a boost.  That helped me to feel comfortable in letting go of her and practicing what I learned in therapy.

Are you talking about missing her as your T or missing her in an emotional way, like you have feelings for her?

Some people can become too emotionally attached to their therapists and that's not healthy. I'm sure she did care about you, but only in a professional way.

Some positive feedback , thankyou.
I believe i feel so lost without her is because i shared quite a few things with her that i havent been able to with my past psychologists.
I guess for the first time i really hoped therapy with her would be able to continue for a lot longer, than it had.
I need long term help,and she wasnt a long term councellor, this i did not know, so i guess i feel let down in some way, and like i said i felt able to share, fo the first time, and she actually made me want to come to therapy.
Yes, i go to see another psychologist this week, not looking forward to it though..
Im sure i wouldnt be feeling so lost without her if i had friends in my life too

CME,

I know that change is scary at times but learn to see the upside of change, and make it work in your favor.

Sometimes change simply requires understanding "It is what it is," and moving on. Acceptance and understanding can take you further than resisting the change.  So please try to keep an open mind and know ahead of time that this new therapist is a completely different person then the one you had but this person is there to help you and give him/her  a chance.
