Great that you are busier Jamiee and I hope this finds you both doing well (and everyone else too!).

Life is good right now but pretty busy also, better busy than idle though right?

Hope everyone is ready for the impending holidays, I'm not yet.... Always great to hear from all of my on-line friends yeah

Don't know how I missed this reply Daftone? I hope you are well? I am doing great and still countering my thoughts in my TEA forms. Hope this finds you well and I'm going to try and post more often.

This is my issue with CBT. I understand that our negative thoughts influence our feelings.

But if I sat down and went thought by thought, analyzing each one by the TEA system, thats all I would be doing 24/7.

I don't understand how to use this system in daily life... Please help if you have any ideas...Thanks in advance.

Hi Evrblue,

I understand your concerns, but it's like anything else new in life... You start by spending a few minutes a day countering the first problem thoughts and counter them each day and then add a few more. It will go up at first but eventually the skill of identifying and countering you will replace your tendency of problem causing jumping to conclusions and blowing things out of proportion and just by eliminating the tendency that starts the cycle in motion that causes our anxiety you will start to feel better and better. Rome was not built in a daty and they didn't spend 24-hours a day building it. A little at a time will get you there :)

Hello CBT girl, I overcome alot of my anxiety a few months ago by facing my fears, i have had no luck with depression. I guess anyone who has faced their fears are brave as many fears are really ingrained in my case feeling you have no self worth. Some of the stuff I do is i will learn a new skill at work and say to myself well done but I am finding it hard to feel good about my positives plus I'm also obsessed with getting just one relationship in my sad life, this i know is making me feel worthless and unwanted. Reading your thread i guess I should give myself a pat on the back for stopping one of my negatives catastrophising, but I just cant seem to keep any positive.

Just wanted to say this is an outstanding thread with good advice. Especially want to echo all that CBTgirl has added here. I used the TEA forms and the book by Sam Obitz and have been virtually symptom free for over 7-years now and can confidently say that these new ways of thinking have stood the test of time for me!

Hi Billy,

I see you are pulling up some very old threads. Some of the members aren't here anymore. I would like to encourage you to start a new thread about your self and share some of your successes. I am sure that members would like to read that. And you will get more responses that way...
