I think sometimes it is easier to tell others what to do than it is to follow our own advice. I think that this is normal. And I for one do it myself. So don't be hard on yourself Kitt. It may have been a quit stroke or in your sleep.

Keep plugging along, take it easy. Know that we are all here for you.

Dear Kind Friends,

I am doing so much better, still some confusion with my typing but I can correct them quickly so I am happy.

My visit with the neurologist was not a good experience and he was very disrespectful - why did I not just up and walk out ? He suggested I see a neuropsychologist for 6 hours of evaluation and testing to see why my typing is scrambled. I would work with a tech who would ask me questions, work on paper tasks, or do other tasks that are very much like games or puzzles.............oh yeah my insurance may not cover it. I would have a fun time. smhair
For meds - keep taking my 1 baby ASA per day. So I will work on my own rehab at home and with the loving support of each of you I will make a 100% recovery and be my sassy self soon. yeah

You guys are the best medicine. Thank you for being my friend.

Kitt: I forgot your exact wording, but last year you told me that I had "grits" and could and would work through what was going on. ...It's time for me to return your wonderful advice. I think about you throughout each day and I know that you have the strength to get through this. Just keep trying and keep advocating for yourself.

Whoooooooooo, hoooo !!!!

Final DX: MRI did not show any new strokes. What I went through was considered a be a small to moderate stroke.
Spontaneous recovery happens naturally to most people. Soon after the stroke, some abilities that have been lost usually start to come back. This process is quickest during the first few weeks, but it sometimes continues for a long time. I was lucky and after 14 days out I have done very well.

So life goes on and thank you for all your support. I am back to pretty my normal but my normal can be a bit whacky. smhair smhair smhair

Dear Friends,

Final commication from the neurologist delivered by his nurse :

I did call the nuero back as his only comment re the MRI was he did not see a new stroke..............so did he see anything ?

His nurse returned my call and said no new stroke, Chronic ischemic small vessel disease was noted - means that there is something obstructing the small blood vessels supplying blood to your brain. This could be due to most commonly, atherosclerosis, which is the build up of plaques inside the blood vessels causing obstruction to blood flow.

My favorite re the TIA from last July, the Dr. said he "would not comment"

I will be making an appointment with my PCP for futher info on medications.

Again, thanks for the prayers, and kind support. This feels a bit like " Patient heal thyself "

Hey Kitt,

Hmmmm, no new stroke sounds like a good thing, but other other thing sounds not so good. I hope being as they've seen this vessel disease on the MRI, then they know to look for it in future.

Also "patient heal thyself" that's the second time I've heard that this week. My counselor said it the other day and I had to ask him what it meant. It's weird when you first hear something, then you'll end up hearing it lots more often in the week following.

Hope you can get your meds sorted out too, I read in your other thread about your meds. It seems like a constant battle for you, and I hope some day you'll win it.
