Hey Arielle,
Have you informed housing office that you're being kicked out? I'm not sure how banding is in your area, if you're on the points system or the banded system. We're on the new banded system which is annoying as you have to make bids on properties yourself. If you inform them, on either system you might get put on the register a lot faster and get pushed up a bit to a higher banding or gte more points. If you're on the bidding system this would mean a higher priority for getting a place. Try not to be too restrictive about
areas if you can help it, as that can have an impact on how soon you can get a house.
I would suggest speaking to Citizens Advice, or ringing the council and trying to get a social worker on side. They can help greatly if for no other reason than to stop you doing this alone.
Where I live, we have a Foyer, a kind of housing for young people. You get your own room, with a shared kitchen etc. It's pretty heavily ruled, but it would be better than nothing if there is something like this in your area.
I moved out at 17 with a friend I was working with. I have never gone back to my Mum's. It's been tough, juggling money is really hard. Housing benefit, council tax benefit and income support really make this a bit easier though. I'm still bundled with debt, but am slowely getting there.
Hope it all works out
