I've got major depression. And, I guess I've had it for most of my life.
I'm at a point now, where 99% of my interaction with others is through electronic means. I work from home, and don't go out, except for a trip to the 7/11 to buy cigarettes once a week. Usually early in the morning so I don't run into many people.
I'm at the tail end of an episode, where I've felt particularily bad. And, I want to feel better.
So, the question is this... I've read a lot where it's stressed not to isolate yourself. That you should go out, and interact. Why? Is this really going to be necessary for my treatment?
I don't dislike people, but I feel much more comfortable without them, by myself.
