Lost Depreesed and have nowhere to go

I am a 50 year old divorced women with three children. I have lost all of them and do not know what to do. This is making my depression worse and I do not want to end up homeless. I do have some money from SSI but cannot live on my own. There are no services out there for people like me . However I do belive there are many people like me out there who just need one person to help them. I live in SW FL. Anyone in the same or similar circumatnces who feels like there is no way out?

Have you looked into low income housing? There usually is something within the community. Where are you living now? Can you put an ad in the paper for a roomate? How did you lose your children? Or do you want to talk about that? You could check into a boarding house and see what the cost is there. You might end up having to go to a homeless shelter until you can make arrangements. They usually give you a certain amount of time, and try to help you find a place. Check resources. I can't believe that you are getting kicked out on the street. What has happened to cause this? If you want to talk about it. We are here for you, I don't know how much help we can give you, but we certainly will try.

Keep your chin up and take this one day at a time.

Thanks for the fast response. I did look into low income housing. When I had my daughter and had her SSI income I made too much. So I moved into a place expecting her to live with me. I stayed in Naples FL so she could continue at her school with her friend. I have to get rid of all my daughters’ things to get someone get a roommate here. It will break my heart but I think I will have to do that. I lost everything when I had a manic attack and then I got depressed I became non functional so I let my family take the little one and admitted myself into the hospital. I was suicidal at the time. They do not want to give her back to me and keep telling me to just snap out of it. I am better now but the situation is so untenable… I have had a very different life until now. I think the lack of help and the changes are causing a great deal of fear for me. Thanks for the help. I wish there was some way to set up a foundation for people like me.

I read that they help people, so you never know. My sister was working at a Burger King. Her teeth were bad, well, the people from Hallmark came in. It was an elderly couple. They paid for her to get dentures. I thought that was so cool.

Do you have a church near by that could maybe help you. If you get a roommate, I hope it is a good one. You never know. It could become a good relationship. We don't know why, but often something good comes out of something bad. It is change, and that is hard to deal with. But there will always be change, take this one day at a time. I hope that things work out for you.

there are many recovery centers and helping homes keep functioning in every cities, possibly try to console your daughter and tell her what you feel if she still can't make it then opt for the choices.

Hello smouse I'm also encountering the same problem. My mother is my only immediate family. my wife is selfish, wants me to leave my mother. I am the only son and she is sick. I did not leave my mother. But last May 30 she died of heart failure. My father's relatives is pressuring me to leave this house because my father will be the one to occupy this space. My father did not treat us nicely and my mother. Now that she is dead they want me also to leave. I am an engineer but I am not successful. Iam just an ordinary professor of engineering students. If you are a government employee here in the Philippines it is hard to have your new home. I really need a miracle from God.

welcome to the forum, you posted on a thread over 6mos old, so I do not know if Smouse with reply.

However, I am sorry for the position you are in. Being professor and teacher is not a failure! It is an important job to teach the next generation. I am disappointed your society does not view it that way.

It is any chance you could get a work visa for Britain or America and move? Your english is very good.
