A couple days ago I posted my story, which was so hard for me. When nobody responded after so many views I deleted it.Since then Ive posted a couple more times and the only response I seem to get is from the moderator, with the exception of one other person who commented about my nobody cares post. Today I have cried most of the day, checked back with healing well constantly to see if anyone cared and when I saw that no one else had responded I was hurt and felt more alone than ever. Then I started thinking, I am just as guilty as anyone because I have not responded to other peoples posts either. The reason I dont respond is because I feel so emotionally overwhelmed right now and its hard for me to write my own posts let alone answer anyone elses. So I thought if  I feel this way maybe others do too. Just because I dont respond, that doesnt mean I dont care, so I guess I need to turn my thinking around...just because people here don't respond to my posts that doesnt mean no one cares about me! Just a thought I wanted to share.

On the weekends there is hardly anybody on the forum. Yesterday afternoon there had been a total of two new posts and only four members on the whole forum. That is slow. You do get more responses if you post on other people's threads as you tend to make friends. I find helping others takes my mind off of my own problems. That might work for you too. I am sorry that you feel so alone right now. ((((HUGS)))) I hope that you feel better soon.

Ashbird: i am very sorry that you feel so alone and have not received responses other than Karen. But let me first say that Karen is the best! She is a person that always knows what to say and is always there to do it.

I'd like to apologize for myself. I have responded to a few posts the past few days, but not too many. I haven't been feeling well again and it has been hard for me to keep my focus. Additionally, I know sometimes I don't have the same ability as Karen and know how to respond. But please know we do care.

we here at HealingWell, do care...it's that I don't always know what to say...
The moderators do their best too and can help out the most...Depression is one of
the hardest ailments to over come (especially for me) that, it can be harder for us
to help...However, I would suggest you try to seek immediate help from a professinal such as
a counselor to talk face to face with, as that is better treatment. Maybe even contact your
pcp (primary care doctor) to see if you could be put on a oral medicine, but after you talk
with your counselor as your counselor might be able to suggest a medicine that
might work for you...
Sure hope your feeling better soon, many well wishes to you and keep us posted as to how your doing...

Thanks for the responses...I am feeling better today. As for the suggestion about councling and medication, I am on prozac and have been since I was a kid. They have tried other meds with me and prozac seems to work the best without the side effects. One of the other meds that was tried actually causes a permaneant tremor in my left hand. I have done the therapy thing most of my life, the hospital thing too many times to count, and even partial hospitalization. If things get really bad I know I have those options. although I get suicidal, I promised my daughter I was gonna stick around and get through this the hard way. Anyway, thanks again.

People do care, and I have been helped by things others have said on here--moderator or not. I just started revisiting the site lately, although I never completely left--I just haven't been posting as much and what I have been posting has been in the chronic pain forum.

Anyhow, I am really sorry for how you've been feeling. It is really awful to feel severely depressed--only to then feel like the people you reach out to don't care. But some people do care, sometimes its just hard to respond. Like you said, you are really overwhelmed right now and haven't responded to many other peoples' posts either. Well, it is probably the same for many other posters on this and the other mental health forums. If you're depressed and/or feeling awful, it is often really difficult to actually read and reply to everyone else's posts. So don't feel bad about that, and I do hope you get some help and feel less overwhelmed and less alone.

Thanks to everyone who replied and to those who just read this post and understood how I felt.  I am feeling a little better now but my circumstances havent changed much and so when reality hits again I know I will need help.

I also am a member who was gone and then returned. In 2001 I was ashbird65, but when I tried to come back I had to change it to just ashbird. They refer to me as a new member when Ive actually been around for a long time.

Anyway, thanks for the support! Its a comfort to know that I have this place to come to when I feel my world falling apart. I just wish more people here chatted in the chat rooms like they use to. I never see anyone there anymore.

I know,

Now people chat in the evenings when they chat. Plus chronic pain use to have a chat night, but they discontinue it in the summer. And I think the fact that people are outside doing things now, makes the forum much slower. It picks up in the winter. I know that doesn't do you much good now. Weekends are especially slow. But I am glad to know that peoiple are out enjoying themselves.
