Alone, Did you Ever really Feel Like That?

Hi all just got back from taking my son to his grandmas house for 3 weeks so he could visit cousins and family.  Got a speeding ticket on the way back, yes a big one 82 in a 60 on the west virginia highway.  So not to happy and really depressed. 

 

The biggest thing I have noticed since I got back is I am so lonely and have no ambition to do anything.  I thought spending entire 3 weeks by myself would be great but when you have no one to spend it with, it sucks.  I have been taking walks in the evenings after the sun goes down but that doesnt really seem fun without someone to talk to and the nights are the worst.  Guys, just really sad.

I'm sorry you're so lonely and sad. I have been really sad lately as well, that's why I joined this forum. What hobbies do you have? Do you like art? Do you have anyone whom you haven't talked to in a while? Maybe you could call or write a letter to that person. You could listen to music on your walks, or if you have dogs, take them with you. Maybe start making a list of things you are going to do with your son after you pick him up? When I get sad I clean a lot. Do you call your son everyday? What about cook for yourself? Now you can relax! :) I know it's really hard being sad and it's even worse to be alone and sad, but just think that you aren't ever truly alone. I am here along with many others. I hope this helps!

"What is Wrong With Me" to the response by someone named Miss Cranberry. It's the most eloquent  and wise post I've read since I've
been a member of the forum. I think you might benefit from
it, and it offers one explanation of the purpose of the sadness and
loneliness of life and what we can do with it as part of the search
for meaning in the mystery of life.

Teresa,

I am so glad that your tests come back okay. I know you were concerned about them. I hope that you feel better soon. You had some nice responses to your post. I am happy the members posted what they did. Miss Cranberry's post is very eloquently written. And is very wise.

why stay at home? there must be parts of the country you have always wanted to see. go and do a bit of traveling, you will meet some amazing people if just get out there. enjoy the space and freedom to do whatever you want when ever you wish, its a rare luxury for some.x

Things like that take money SilentSinger. Not everybody has it. A lot of us have responsibilities that keep us close to home. But your suggestion was a nice one. She just came back from visiting her daughter. How did that go by the way Teresa???

Thank you for your kind words as usual.  Things in my life as they are is really sad.  My daughter has pushed me passed my depression and the police were called to check on me.  Welcome to the old days, I wish I could get away from this town for a couple days and just laugh about anything In could but I dont have anyone to do that with me anymore.  I cant always keep promises when In feel like I have no outlet. 

 

I dont know if praying even helps anymore, just want to give up sometimes more now than ever.

Can you go some places on your own? Would it still be fun for you? Could you revisit some places that you have been before? Or would that be too hard for you to do?

I just thought if it was familiar that it would be easy to do. But that might bring back old memories. I don't know. I just hope that you feel better. Maybe just a ride out in the country would be nice. I myself like to walk. It clears my head. I always feel better afterwards. It kind of gives me energy. I use to cross country ski and that was so good for me, but I don't have it in me anymore. I always intend to go and never do.

Keep your chin up Teresa. Things are going to get better for you. They are gradually. But sometimes it is at a snails pace. And we just don't notice it. And it seems like forever.

I have actually walking in the mornings and evenings to tone up my flabby parts....by the way it isnt working.  As far as visiting places that would be great to revisit once or twice with the one that made it special but that doesnt happen anymore.

 

today im going to a local beach called west branch park and just sit in the sun by myself and think.  The evenngs are always the worst for me so i will probably stay most of the afternoon unless something changes.  Just so lonely i cant stand it.

Glad that you are going to the park. I think it will do you good. I hope that you do feel better soon. I hate to see you struggle. But I still think that things will get better.

The walking will help you. Just don't quit. It just takes time.

PS I started drinking lemon water all day and that helps lose weight too.

I saw your post and felt such a connection with what you said about feeling alone, depressed & no energy. I  have been strugglng with depression as well. Although I'm not alone as you are...I find myself feeling so alone even though my family is with me. I don't know why & I have no idea how to even begin to explain it. My depression goes so deep & I feel so guilty that even though I have tremendous support from my husband and kidz and it doesn't fix how I feel. I know they want me to be ok & normal. But I don't even know what that is.

I completely understand what you were saying about having no energy...But I'm proud of you for at least going for walks in the evening. I can't even get myself to do that.

Thank you so much for telling me about you.   In this great big "perfect"world that everyone lives in with the exception of us that live with depression think that we are crazy and lazy for not feeling like they do.  I have lost many people in my life to my depression and I hate my depression every day for that. 

 

Thank God you do have support from your family but please know this........ALWAYS LET THEM BE YOUR BIGGEST ALLIES, ALWAYS TELL THEM HOW YOU ARE TRULY FEELING EVEN WHEN IT HURTS......SILENCE AND ANGER WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING DEPRESSION DOES NOT WANT YOU TO HAVE!

 

There are alot of great people on here and you are so very welcome to our growing and very loving group!
