How am I doing?

A whie ago I started a thread by the request of a fellow member about how we are doing and our accomplishments that we are striving for.  I wondered if any of you would like to post about things you are doing or trying to do and how you are getting along.  So do join in and share some of your positive moments with us.

I myself have been struggling with fibromyalgia and arthritis.  I have been walking everyday and trying to stay active so I don't feel so stiff.  The more I sit, the worse I feel. 

I am also going on a short trip tomorrow.  I am not good out of my comfort zone so we will see how that goes.  Wish me luck.

Please share some of your accomplishments, no matter how large or small.

I've begun my knitting for charity at Christmas for the children and
am in the middle of one hat and almost ready to finish it. Knitting in
the summer is something I do only in my home. Can you imagine the laughter if I took a knitting project out with me in public in August?
Nevertheless, it's relaxing and pleasant.

I felt the shaking of the earthquake that hit near Charlottesville, Va.
this afternoon and called my daughter to see if they felt it--very eerie feeling.

This weekend, hurricane Irene is supposed to hit the N.C. coast in Wilmington right in line with a condo my daughter and son-in-law have for vacation trips. But I'm happy just to be with you folks
again and hope you all have lots of things lined up for the fall season coming soon.

Wednesday, August 24th, 3:54 P.M.:

The hurricane Irene is turning Northeast so it appears that it will skirt

the North Carolina coast leaving the homes along the ocean front

and inland in far better condition than earlier thought.  Delighted for

that, I am.  One worry gone forever!  But I've grocery shopped for

it and am hoping to have grandchildren for play and dinner on Saturday.

Honestly, they have been the loves of my life during recent years, and

they just seem to get brighter and even more lovely as time goes on.

What blessings we do get along the way, huh?

I have started a journal for myself so I can improve my chances of quitting drinking for good, not a sip, a glass, a sniff, nothing at all. I'm quite prone to becoming an alcoholic and would very much like to quit due to health reasons and the fact I don't like getting hurt on the way home haha.
I'm utmost proud of myself with the half of year 11 I did in adult VCE this year, I had learnt alot in Health and Human Development and a lot in biology which has helped me along with afew things....kind of.
Often have problems socializing without alcohol in person, however I really need to conquer this and build up my self confidence in any situation.
Would like to take better of my condition and need to stretch and exercise a little more, however I can only do 1 thing at a time and will prioritize what I need to tackle step by step.

tomorrow, when i see my councillor, i will be telling her about my stepdad and about him touching and looking at me inapproprietely. my sister (extremely close friend, not blood related) will be coming with me and probably tell my councillor for me as i dont wanna cry in front of her. but my sister said if i cry, its ok. but i hate crying, especially in front of others. i have told my sister that if i think im going to cry though, im going to just leave. she said she will just come after me and bring me back. but i think thats a positive thing im letting my councillor know even though im not telling her...

I am so proud of you for being so brave. You be strong now, you can do this. It is time for you to tell what is going on. Know that we are all here behind you. We will help you to be strong. It isn't going to be easy, but it will be such a relief. Somebody will be able to help you through this. And if you can't, don't worry, but I thinik you can.
