Starting Lamictal

Hi, I was prescribed Lamictal today. I have been suffering for a very long time with depression and anxiety. I believe I have tried every SSRI possible; some worked for awhile, some not at all. My depression has been very bad, requiring me to take some time off from work which upsets me very much. I was so happy to come across this group and to see many who have had success with Lamicital for depression. I take my first pill tomorrow, 25 mg and will slowly go up to 75. I will be following along and posting. It is good to be with a group who truly understands.

Sam, just a bit of FYI:

Sometimes this sight can be slow loading when making posts which makes people think there post/replies did not go through and they will hit the "Submit" button again. Once in a while a post may not actually submit but many times it does and hitting the Submit button more than once causes mutiple copies to be posted.

Best thing to do if you think your post did not go through is to open up the sight in a new window, while leaving the original window open and see if your post did go through.

Hi Sam, my nephew takes Lamictal and it works well for him. It did not work well for me at all. So what I am saying is psychiatry is not an exact science. Sometimes it takes a little longer than we want to find the right medication. I have also been through all the SSRIs, as well as all the SNRIs, like Effexor and Pristiq. I finally tried NuVigil, which is for narcolepsy, but which is used off-label for depression. It is working very well for me. I hope the Lamictal works well for you, but just be aware of the side effects. There are still other antidepressants that may work even if Lamictal does not. And be sure to do other things which you enjoy and pamper yourself. Do not beat yourself up for any reason. It is good that you posted out here. I made my first post tonight. Blessings to you.
