No hope

I don't think there is ANY hope here. All I get is bills and more bills. No friends becuz I'm always so depressed. They are all single and always have been, make super money, own their homes, buy new cars all the time, and sit at the bars every night - Which I don't want to do. So I have lost all of them. I can't find a job, can't make it on unemployment, my live in drives me crazy. I just don't give a damm about anything.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I'm pretty messed up myself. In fact, I may be admitted to the hospital tmw after my Psychiatrist appointment. I can't really offer you advice, since I'm such a worthless mess. I just want to offer you my support and encouragement.

You found healingwell and with it a ton of people who are or have been where we both are. You are encouraged to vent and seek support and friendship here. However, you can't mention suicide or self harm for fear that we may trigger others. Not that you have, but I just thought I'd warn you since I keep getting my posts edited for those reasons.

I'm disabled from a work injury, lost my job/career and have no income or self esteem. I have major back issues, chronic pain (cp), major depression, fibromyalgia, bladder disorder and several other mental/ physical problems. I'm fighting workers comp. and also for SSD benefits. I'm married and the financial stress plus my depression and PTSD is causing a great disturbance there as well.

You are not alone and there will soon be others posting their support. Hang in there!

I have known people like you describe and while they seem to have it all I have found that many of them are just as messed up as anyone else. They often have this big hole in their life that they try to fill up with materialistic things. They pretend they are happy and care free but deep down they are anything but.

Oh sure there are those who really are happy and living their dream but in my experience they are rare.

Try spending less time and energy on what others have and what you feel you are missing. Use that time and energy on yourself and making you the kind of person inside that you want to be and working on making your entire life into something you consider rich and fulfilling.

Times are tough right now, but things really do not have anywhere to go but up.

BTW: I do not know what type of jobs you are qualified to do but if your field is really lacking in jobs check into educational grants to learn a new set of job skills. Some occupational fields, like health care, are still wide open and begging for help.

Oh, I don't spend much time on thinking about what all my ex-friends have or don't have. I don't really care, and it doesn't effect my life much anyway. I am really upset about the 1 and only girlfriend I have (had) left. I have no idea what I did to her, but she has shut me off, down, and it really hurts. There is only so much a person can take, ya know? I thank God for my dog, he keeps me going. I'll be OK, I always am. But there are days that the whole world feels like its against me. Life can only get better, it just can't get worse!
