zoloft

I have been going through hard times and have been on a few medications. I could tolerate lexapro and prozac but gained weight on them. More on the prozac than the lexapro. Lexparo I gained 12 pounds on it and prozac I gained 14 pounds. I'm 4'11 and before all the meds I weighed 110 now i'm 131. My highest weight was 140. I excercise religiously. I've done so for ten years of my life but I still get sad. My doctor told me zoloft is least likely to cause weight gain but it's still possible. She was honest with me and she cares about my feelings. Really like her a lot. The lexapro and the prozac never gave me the common side effects but with the second day on zoloft my tummy hurts. Which is common side effect. Is there a good chance I won't gain on zoloft? prozac and zoloft i hear are weight neural prozac for me was not neutral in the least but could that mean zoloft won't affect my weight. I'm trying to get to 115. I've lost 6 pounds in a month and two weeks. which is good. It's something. I have a food log and i'm going for 1300 calories and trying to burn 300 through exercise

some people gain weight easier than others and some lose weight easier than others. i think you need to do a cost/benefit analysis on the weight gain. decide if the weight is worth the benefits in the medication, whatever it is. in my case i've gained some on zoloft, but i think losing some of the anxiety symptoms make it worth the cost of having more weight.

many years ago my ex-wife that was a size 2 was put on an anti-depressant and absolutely went crazy when she got up to 105 pounds. at that time the doc felt that the medicine was doing more harm than good because of her obsessing about the weight gain and took her off of it.

I couldn't tolerate wellbutrin at a high dose, and that is what I needed. I hope that the zoloft works for you. You may need to walk or get exercise, count calories, but as long as you are feeling better, it works.
