How does depression feel like to you?

For me it feels like i don't just want to die, i want to destroy any evidence that i was ever alive.

It feels like an extremely heavy person is sitting down you. You literally can't breath, and sometimes you panic for air. Almost like being in a wrestling match with the greatest wrestler and they have you pinned down on the floor. As much as you try, you can't get up. People in the stands are laughing at you for getting your butt kicked, and no one is sympathetic to your plight. No one tries to help, but they are there for the entertainment and they are waiting to see if you can get out on yourself. If you can't, it's your own fault. You are just weak.

To me it feels like a strong aching sadness, sometimes overwhelming, that is always hanging over my life and does not go away no matter how much I KNOW I should be happy. I have a wonderful husband of 25 years who adores me, four beautiful kids, a good job, many friends, the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day, etc. But why do I feel soooooo lonely, empty, and sad? Sometimes I have NO motivation to do anything other than sleep... do not want to go out of the house, do not want to see anyone, do not want to talk to anyone, do not want to answer the phone, etc. To me depression feels like that too, feeling totally alone, and unchangeable, beaten down, discouraged, even though it is not reality. Sad, hopeless feelings completely overshadow anything that makes rational sense. Ugh! Hated writing this! Thankfully right now my depression is under control, mainly because of Cymbalta.

I often feel like crying for no reason. I get irritated and nervous, sometimes mean. I don't answer phone, door or go anywhere. Going out is a huge ordeal. And I can relate to the black hole that sucks you in... I am glad I don't feel like that today, but that is how I feel when I get depressed.

I like the description "The dirty little black hole" I can't agree more.

For me it feels like when I get good news, I am waiting for something to ruin it.

It goes on..and....on....and...on.....and then on some more.

I try to walk and now that the sun is out in our part of the hemisphere, I am going to try to soak up some of that vitamin D.

It's feel horrible. Makes me sad and feel very hopeless and regrets everything. It's makes things I have to do hard. Most of the time I just want to lie in bed and cover up.

It feels like a huge weight on ur sholders it actually hurts u know ur not rite because u may have felt rite once or twice with some medicines its like a very strong pain n ur heart n sometimes u want it all to just end ud feel no more pain n ur heart n ur mind would stop cry mad I feel angry sad lonley n I KNOW I'm not rite
