Actually I used to workout all the time... I run, bike and lift. It's just the last 2 or so years I got into a rut after being layed off.. I was drinking alot(DOES NOT HELP DEPRESSION!)... I think it actually caused my depression(pretty sure)...and just kinda shut down and sat around.. It's hard to get anything done let alone workout when your half wasted all the time. That didn't help my weight at all... Anyway.. used to be in really good shape.. So now I've been walking 2 miles up and down hills..1/2 way I get to a park and do exercises like push-ups, dips, calf raises...that kind of thing..then back home. I'm startin out kinda slow.. I used to run 3 miles or bike 20 and that was normal for me. But carrying around an extra 60lbs is hard!.. Plus I have to build up my cardio again. Walking up hills is as hard as jogging on even pavement. So I'll get there.. I don't like jogging but I do like to bike.. So I'm sure I'll be getting into that.
On a very happy note.. I re-started my diet last Saturday... saw my GP, got new script
for BP..which included a dieuretic...and I'm low carbing it on the diet.. so between those 2 water shedding situations, and it being the 1st week of diet(1200 cals/day) I lost 11 lbs!.. No bs.. I know it's mainly water.. I lost about
8 lbs of water in a week!.. wow.. the 1st week of a diet is always the best..(or worst if you cheat on it)... so you'll see big results if your religious about
your plan.. Next week I hope to lose 3lbs.. I should if I go by the plan I came up with... simply 1200 cals/day and do the routine mentioned about
5 to 6 days this week. I 'weigh in' every Saturday so I'll post about
it next week.
I guess the whole point here isn't me losing weight.. It's doing something that makes you feel better about yourself. I read some post where people just dont have the energy to get up and get motivated.. I understand that..I did that for 2 years! Depression sucks!.. But I have to force myself because I know all these things will help and kinda gives me a purpose. A reason to get excited about something.. Albeit just shedding some pounds.. Now that is exciting.. :)
