Hi everyone,

I had a bit of a bad day yesterday that ended up good and bad.

Good news: I'm now on my fitness instructor course, hurraahhh!!

Bad news: I've got to find £405 from somewhere and it took me from 9am-3am persuading them to have me on the course, not being able to see Rhory for half a day. My fiance brought him in, in the end when I burst into tears from stress and frustration.

More bad news: I'm on a level 1/ level 2 after having my screening. I was gutted. It is between a A*-C and D-G GCSE level, when I did my level 4 in A levels. I can't believe after being out of education for three years, that I could go from level 4 to level 1/2.

More good news: If I get through my level 2 gym instructing, I can then go on level 3 personal training for free.

Very bad news: We will be very poor until next March, including Christmas and mine and Rhory's birthday, because they wouldn't help us financially even though we are on Job seekers allowance and are allowed to have financial help, so I sent off an angry email to the college, demanding why after I was promised financial help, that I never got any. It's only one day a week for 24 weeks. How does that come to £405? You don't get anything out of it, only a qualification. You have to pay for your own uniform, stationary and I'd have to pay for bus fair too. As well, I'd have to walk to the bus station from the college and have been warned there have been catastrophic incidents as regards to walking from college at night, as it is an evening course. No-body could give me a lift home, so I'm so worried about that.

Sorry for ranting. Over all, I'm on the course and I'm happy with it. I'm just worried I can't get through the course financially and emotionally now and it's a lot of pressure seeing as we have got to pay all of it on such a little income :(

Hi Annie,

Well in the end it sounds as if everything will work out in the end.
Yes it is frustrating and unfair, but that is life isn't it?. So sorry Rhory must experience a little of that so early in life.

Kids are resilent so do not worry so much over Christmas and his birthday, you being there is special enough right now. How old is he? May be more your feelings than his. Try to relax over this.

Congratulations on your success's and focus on them, they are true victories to celebrate!

Congrats for getting into the course!

Well, as always, everything good always comes with something bad before good. Sometimes, sacrifices just has to be made. Sure you wouldn't be able to see Rhory for half day but the good news is that you still have time for Rhory even if it's not much, it's still time. And once you graduate from your fitness instructor course, you could give your family a better life (:
Getting back to your learning gear may be frustrating after 3 years of not learning, but sometimes, you just have to take it all in. It's really stressing, I agree but it will all be worth it in the future.

Dropping from level 4 to level 1 is a lot of difference but I guess that's for not learning for 3 years. Just take it slow and easy, maintain your grades and I'm sure you'll reach your goal. You're a smart and wise girl, I know that you can do it. :-)

The education's fee for 405 pounds, is it every month or per year ?

Well, better to hunt for a temporary job. I'd say good luck with it! It's safer to just ride the bus but just for safety, the bus isn't exactly really safe or even the cab. Can you maybe afford a motorcycle or a small car ? Last time, I saw the news on a girl/boy (I forgot) and was killed in the bus. The killer was the bus driver (I think... it happened for quite a while ago). Same goes to the cab, what is wrong with people these days ?

Thanks everyone.

Sorry I have not been on in a while. I've been exhausted from Rhory waking four times in the night last night. I think he was poorly because he's not usually like it and not woken in the middle of the night since about 9-10 weeks old. He's been a nightmare to get to sleep tonight but eventually got there with a little bit of tough love after being mardy and crying, (he wasn't poorly tonight, just going though a, 'I want attention phase') then a cuddle after I came up but I didn't talk to him and got him to sleep by holding his hand and stroking his back. He was asleep within a minute or two.

Now I'm eating chocolate mousse and nearly falling to sleep. I think I best make the bed soon and get in it......yawwwwnnn! :)

Hi Karen,

I hope I do to. I wondered if whenever he moved, it woke me up and I moved, which in turn woke him up. He was on his tummy too. He's still jittery on his tummy. It was really cute how he woke up. He raised himself up on his arms, looked at me, smiled and fell back down because he was so exhausted and repeated it several times. I put him onto his back every time and helped him back to sleep. He never once cried for a feed or anything, just sleepy smiled and tried so hard to lift himself up.

He is teething......little finger chomper and mummy finger chomper. My nail beds are splitting from all that chomper-rooing haha. I reckon that could be a bit of a problem too. Poor gummies. Thank you for suggesting.

He's on day three of weaning too. Mango surprise. He wolfed it down and ended up with a very yellow mustache :D It was funny, and my hands got covered too. I think I might resort to baby fruit purees. It is the most scrummiest mush I have ever tasted!

How is your dog's shelter doing? :)

Hey Annie,

I loved reading your post about little Rhory. That is so cute. It brought tears to my eyes, I never had kids Annie, and reading about your little one touches my heart. I am glad you are a happy mom. And that you love your Rhory so much... That is so sweet.

I have a grand daughter and some grand sons through marriage. I love them so much. They grew so fast, so be ready for that. Kids grow up so fast, like in a blink of an eye. My oldest grandson is 18 now, it blows my mind. I am glad my daughter in law had lots of kids... It is so much fun to see them.

I hope the teething isn't too difficult. They cry a lot. I remember when Jordynn (my granddaughter) was teething. I would get cold things to put on her gums. It helped.

I hope you have a good day Annie, Keep posting. I love to read your posts.

Awww bless you. I love writing about him. I noticed it brightens everyone's day and it makes me happy knowing other members are happy too.

I bet you cherish your grandchildren? My grandma spoils Rhory with pocket money and cuddles. I think it's only because it's her first great grandchild but nobody ever thought I could have children. I had problems getting pregnant and had a miscarriage before, so Rhory is so very special to me. My pregnancy with him was worrying, as I suffered with GBS and recurrent bladder infections and had to be monitored a lot and I thought I'd lost him a couple of times whenever I bled but I always had scans to make sure he was ok. We called him our little soldier, after all we had been through (It's too long to explain but briefly we had to move last year for our own safety against some nasty people and I nearly got pushed down our flat stairs by one of many horrible neighbours. It was a rough area to live in, so I had the council move us with the Police's help in the end, it was that bad).

Anyway, back to good things. Rhory is asleep in his bouncer and I'm watching 'House' and being a lead moderator for a week, whilst the lead mod is away on holiday, so it's a busy busy week for me and lots of members and posts to sort out :)

I just remembered, Rhory likes to chomp on a cold carrot, as well as my fingers, so I've given my fingers a break. Oh and ambasol helps him I think. None of his teeth have cut through yet. He's been teething since a month and a half old. It'll look odd when he has teeth. I love his gummy smile :') But I think a toothy smile is in order.

He had strawberry and apple puree yesterday (more mustaches) and he's been put down to 7oz on the first stage Cow and Gate milk, from hungry baby. He had four bottles and a little meal, as opposed to eight bottles a day. Crikey, he was most certainly ready to wean, poor sweetheart. He's having more strawberry and apple puree today. What shall I give him tomorrow? I'd like to make a puree for him. Fruit or veggie? I know he goes mental for tomato juice from the tomato. He usually has his little meal around 12-1pm. Hehe when he sees his bowl now, he lifts his arms and does a manic coo. He's like a little chomperlicious dinosaur!

I love reading about Rhory, and you tell it so well. I can just picture everything you are talking about. You sound good and that is great. I hope that things keep going well for you. I see Rhory is you rock and you his. That is awesome.

Just thought that I would pop in for a sec and say hi. Hi!
You're doing great I see! It's nice that you could enjoy your life now with your Rhory.

Rhory's teething ? Nice!! He's gonna have beautiful teeth in the future. You can put his toys in the fridge and let it cool but be careful that any given teething toys aren't too cold. Frostbites of the gums can occur with frozen items. Teething rings should be kept in the fridge, Not and I mean NOT the freezer.
Don't use baby orajel or other numbing gels because it could drip down your baby's throat and are therefore dangerous.
Certain homeopathic remedies such as "teething tabs" can help soothe some teething pain.

Since he already had strawberry and apple puree, why not give him veggie this time so he has a balanced diet.

I hope these tips and suggestions would help Rhory (:
