Has anyone had an Endoscopy done? My anxiety is high

I have canceled an appointment before due to scaring myself surfing the net and watching videos of it being done. Since, I have started having panic attacks 4 years ago, I'm afraid of everything....

Hi Faith, I have had that done 4 times already. i have every and
any kind of test you can think of . I have sle lupus i feel for
you but you won't get to the bottom of the problem if you don't have the test done. first of all they give you an iv. and then they
will tell you to count backwords from 10 you will be asleep and
and when you wake up you will not know that it was done. the
nurses are very nice and take good care of you. life is a challenge
meet it and life is a gift so accept it.you are in my prayers and i hope you will be able to go though with this test remember you are not alone and i will be here for you.

I just think the worse of everything, life is a challenge, I just wish this fear of everything would go away and I can do the things I use to before the attacks and stop being afraid

Take this one day at a time Faith... That is the easiest way. Don't be afraid of the procedure. My first husband had one and couldn't go under anesthesia, and he survived. So you will too. Don't be afraid, just do it... You will be fine...

No more Dr. Google!

I had one done a decade ago. It was totally fine. I prefer a endoscopy to the colonoscopy-ah, joy juice!!

Think of it this way. A nice way to get a day off and rest well.

I had one done this past summer and no one was more afraid than I. But I had to do it and thankful I did because I found why my gut was killing me and I was losing massive amount of weight.

I was very upfront and told everyone that I had anxiety bad and that I was a nervous wreck. so they handled me very well and like the previous poster said you are asleep in seconds and then awake minutes later, very quick procedure.

you will be fine, let us know how it goes

Make an appointment with the doctor that scheduled this test for you and make a list of your questions and go to the appointment with that and once the doctor answers your questions then you should feel loads better about getting this procedure done. You will most likely have a mild soar throat for a few days, but that will go away and then you'll get your results and stop watching all the internet stuff as it can scare a person silly, especially when half of what shown might not even be true...Many well wishes and your brave enough to go and get this procedure done! Much faith in you, but call the doctor and talk to him/her and explain your fears, this doctor should be able to help with that...

Hello everyone, I had the procedure done today, I cried like a baby,but it was done. Everything was normal,now next step asthma test,to see why I have a dry cough.
