Hello .........
You mentioned that you were seeing a therapist.
I have a short story ..... a few years ago, while I was in a 7-year relationship with a woman, she was going to a psychiatrist once a year for what she called a check-up ... which amounted to a new prescription ordered.
After a few years, when some problems developed between us, we went to a couples counselor - by my suggestion. We went to 5 or 6-visits with the counselor before my partner got totally irate with something that was said. She blew up during the session and was even worse on the way home.
We stopped the counseling ... and the end of our relationship eventually came. My point to this ...... the psychiatrist was doing her NO good for guiding her thru her depression and lack of confidence. He was a pill popper source for her ..... that's all!
What is your therapist? A psychologist (training is more people-oriented) or a psychiatrist (training is much heavier in drugs than people- oriented)!
It usually makes a big difference ...... and - don't forget to give the therapist some time. Two or three meetings will likely not be nearly enough.
Wishing you the best.
