Hi everyone. Had a better day yesterday and then today--bam. Feeling very alone and just so tired. My daughter is still sick as is my dog. I am still having some distressing symptoms (no appetite, night sweats, nausea, exhaustion) and have a follow up appointment with my doctor this week, but I fear she will not take me seriously. I really do want all of my symptoms to be as a result of depression and anxiety because that would mean that there isn't something wrong with me, but I am very anxious which ends up making me depressed.

I just feel really alone and tired and yet at the same time I want to crawl out of my skin.

Feel better Kate and Michelle. It is that time of year, and even the colds have colds. Add that to other discomfort, and it makes for a horrid day. I am having a period for the first time in several years this week. Between that and being a little tired from a side effect of wellbutrin, I am feeling dizzy and distracted.

Just got back from having my taxes done. All my refunds are ear-marked for stuff already. Mostly practical, but maybe also a spring break trip to the beach.

I am childless by choice too. I got my tubes done when I was I turned 30. I didn't go into menopause until I was about 50. But getting my tubes done was the best thing for me, because in the back of my mind I was always afraid of getting pregnant. I liked the birth control too because I always knew when I was going to cycle.

I am sorry you couldn't deduct for medication costs. I hope it all works out good anyway.

I can't seem to help myself. Anxiety has made my OCD crazy. I'm cleaning everywhere I go and taking so many showers it's not funny.

I need to upgrade my phone, MissJD. I have whatever the model before the newest iphone. I hate it. It locks up all of the time. Siri keeps turning herself on and screwing up my texts. I have to recharge the thing multiple times a day. Plus, it likes to randomly make it letter unusable. That has made me a walking thesaurus. I hope yours is tons better than mine.

After my first divorce, my mother suggested that I get a hysterectomy. I thought that was a bit extreme. I've been unable to find a birth control that won't screw up my already screwed up hormones more. I keep on the low side of the hormone scale and birth control actually pushes it up so much that I get physically ill. I do love being a mom. I always thought I'd have more than one. I've always gravitated to kids and the elderly. I do think its awesome that you are both in touch with yourselves to know it's not for you. There are so many kids not being cared for properly because of others who didn't realize that.

It's been a crappy day. I did some packing, not sure why because I've got no where to put stuff. HUD said they can't help me. My drs receptionist is new and scheduled me with the wrong surgeon so my important appointment got pushed back. I'm on a time crunch with insurance so let's hope he can fast track me. My soon to be ex drove me home and I had a crazy person style breakdown. My grandmother said that if I'm not willing to take everything from him that I can that she can't help me. I just want to do what's right. My kids school called. Apparently, since going to live with their dad they have only been to school 7 times. The state has been alerted. I don't get their father. He's a teacher. He should know how important school is to kids. He said that he doesn't really care about the school since they told him that they aren't renewing his contract. I'm furious with him but this may put the kids back with me pretty soon. I'm hoping that eventually I'll get some sleep and I'd love just one day where I'm not crying. One whole day.

   FINALLY ......... above freezing yesterday!

   It actually got up to 45 degrees yesterday. And it was 35 degrees this morning at 8am. I guess only "northern dogs" have stayed in the Chicago area this Winter ... but still didn't see any Huskies or Malamutes out there! Gizmo's getting lonely! Is there such a thing as a dog psychologist?

   CELL PHONES:

   I have to say this blows my mind! A $600. phone! at least i heard that's what many of the newer phones cost. I had a $100.+ phone once - and it made sense that when I was riding the Yamaha, if there was a break-down or an accident - to be able to call for help.

   Since I can't ride much any more, I thought why keep spending $45. a month for a basic plan when I could use over $500. a year to pay for my medication insurance - thereby saving me several thousand dollars a year in med costs.

   Now i've never been on public aid before in my life. And I worked 50-years in order to get social security and partial medicare. I started paying taxes with my first job at the age of 14. I have no pension. My non-union former profession rarely offered one to any employee - when I was an employee.

   When I became self-employed - then incorporated, my medical insurance cost me a fortune - and I couldn't afford liability insurance for the 22-years in my business.

   What is the freakin magic about a $600. cell phone? For how many people is this a necessity? And I'm not talking about a cell phone that often is used for business, out-of-the office use or otherwise for someone making 50k a year or thereabouts.

   I remember, less than two years ago, when my Mother had a live-in caregiver. She was a very nice lady - but had a difficult time paying some of her own utility bills some months. But, sure enough, she was one of the first people I knew to get an expensive smart phone.

  Can someone give me a clue as to the need for having an expensive cell phone? I can't ask her ... because her phone was disconnected - due to non-payment of a cell phone bill!

   Yes .... I am probably one of the few people (now) that you know with no cell phone service. What should i do with my Nokia? And no - it won't fit there!!!!

Hi All-

I am so glad yall are thawing out up North. But I know flooding looms ahead. Please stay safe.

Since I got off one mood stabilizer, I can feel it in my attitude (I am still on one mood stabilizer). I wake up just blah. I don't want to come to work. Work is no fun anymore- it's work. I love teaching but lately it is a chore just like everything else in my day.

I am trying SO HARD to live in the moment and take in some of the positive energy from my students (yes, I guess I am using them...lol). I am trying to put a smile on my face and fake it till I feel better in the day. It's hard but I am surviving. I hoping sometime next week I will feel better since that will be the 2 week mark for being off of it.

I am struggling and I hate it. I feel my depression pulling me in more and more... I am using everything in my power to fight it. Please keep me in your thoughts.
