OMG we got to 100 posts fast. We would make them longer but it is a lot to read for a newbie or somebody posting on the thread for a first time.

Hi all-

Rob- you suck- 75 really?? Need a roommate?? I can live with those temps. Between humidity, 90 degree days and menopause, I'm one HOT mama!!!!

I tried to give my grocery list to three different people and no one would take it :(. So Steven and I are starving! Maybe today.....

HFO- I'm so incredibly proud of you. You are battling your fears and forging forward. You may not think so, but you are. I'm so glad your daughter responded well.

Karen- what do you do with all of the blue berries??

Pouring rain here with thunder. Good day to stay in bed, but logarithms are calling my name!! Yes it's a tutoring day!! And laundry day, and you guessed it, grocery store day!! Fun, fun!

Have fun berry picking! By the time I remember it around here, the time has passed. Although, I do want to get up to the orchards for some new peaches.

Rob-glad to hear the new round of chemo has some good side effects. Eat what you are hungry for and enjoy it.

AV-New dude sounds dangerous right now, with everything else. Keep your attention where it ought to be. The texting thing would really put me off, honestly.

Michelle-I hope your day is good. The summer is counting down.

HFO-You are doing so well with stepping forward! Yes, little steps, but these will bring great progress. My strengthening thoughts for you this Wednesday.

JAMIE-THE TOUR IS WINDING DOWN. THE PYRENEES WERE REACHED LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS A HUGE STAGE, 180 ODD MILES. 4 BIG MOUNTAINS TODAY, AND I AM STILL PICKING NIBALI.

So far, the migraine medication has done what it ought to do, for which I am glad. Things are better today. I am at my usual cafe, preparing to do some work on lesson plans. I got off-base gathering information and IDing useful websites and looking through the library's book collection. All of mine are in storage, and I am not ripping them out to find the three books I want to use. Luckily, the library had one of the main books I need. I want to do two lesson plans for the interview, proving I understand the different needs of middle school. Then the gym, and home.

I hope everyone's day is off to a good start.

Karen: Thanks for being proud of me that really means a lot to me. I am trying to take things one day at a time. I've noticed when I'm in one of these really bad spaces like I am now it's much easier for me to literally take things one day at a time because when I think ahead even about tomorrow my anxiety becomes overwhelming so one day at a time is good advice for me. Thank you.

Rob: 75 degrees today, lucky you! I love the 70's that is perfect weather for me. I'm so glad to hear that the side affects of the new chemo are being kind to you that is great news. Hopefully you will be able to eat better soon, you've been doing good lately and I know it will continue to get better. I hope your meeting goes well with the nurse practitioner. Yes it is nice when our child surprises us like that, it's definitely a good thing.

CheleL: Laundry day & grocery day on the same day, you're a busy one, I have to separate those two days. Thank you for saying you're proud of me that means a lot to me, especially after I shared how things went during my Monday session. I was afraid I had let others down. I'm also glad that my daughter responded well.

Myself: Thanks so much for the strengthening thoughts, I really need those and they mean a lot to me. I'm glad that your migraine medication is working for you and that things are better today. I hope that all goes well with preparing your lesson plans for your interview. You sound so focused and confident so I know you will do well.


Okay so I have a few errands to run, these are things that I need to do today. I really should've left out around 10:00 this morning and haven't seemed to make it out of the door yet because I'm procrastinating. I just wanted to lay there and ignore things so I don't have to feel anything, but I decided to log in and read on the forum. I was surprised to see my name in the thread and I was surprised to read people saying that they are proud of me. I know this is only an online forum but for some reason the support & advice really means a lot to me and it's helping me a lot right now. So I'm about to make myself get out and get these errands done because they are crucial for today.

Heartfeltone, thats great that you pushed yourself to get your errands done. Thats how you make it through depression. You are very strong and can make it through this.

Rob, I hope the nurse appointment goes well. Its awfully hot here. The humidity is horrible.

Myself, I'm glad the medication is working. Migraines are so horrible. I hope uou are feeling better after the procedure yesterday.

I'm not ready for a relationship and I know it. I may see if a friendship works with this guy. The kids get along well. I can always use more friends. I still have strong feelings for the ex so I don't feel like it would be fair to try and date. Life goes on, right?

HELLO to everyone!

I'm going to start keeping a notepad by my phone/computer so that I can enter information about each person to help me keep up. Confusion...aargh!!!

But, comment to AV--please be very wary of this fellow. He sounds like bad news--and if I may go out on limb, someone who could become a stalker? Texting till the middle of the night is bothersome enough without being inebriated and if he was receiving replies, he is encouraged.

Stay strong, and strength is what you need in your life now. Please keep sharing about this situation.

Hmmm. If you are giving more than you are getting, then it's not a friendship. Right now, you don't need to be giving. You need to be a little selfish. Just my thought.

AV, I agree with Myself--and add "guarded" to "selfish." I'm really glad you've been able to laugh, though.

Some people can be very convincing when we're vulnerable. And, at times, it can be difficult to discern honesty from a storyteller. I imagine plenty of us have firsthand experience along those lines...

Not meaning to be harsh, AV, simply caring.

Good evening .....

   I have not felt so tired in ???! The NP thinks it's the new chemo. I think it's my eating or lake of proper food. It's probably both.

   Jan1952 ...... not a bad idea about the pad of paper!!!

   AV ......... I wish we could help you thru the feelings you still carry.

   HFO ......... is everything coming together now - for tomorrow?

   Myself 09 ........ boy it is so much less confusing by simply adding the 09 onto the end of Myself.

   Michele ........ hey dear lady - that was the first time today that someone said "I sucked"! Oh yeah - it's gonna be up to 76 tomorrow!!!

Notes:

   My NP says I don't drink enough water - she's right! She laughed when i said I had two White Castle c.burgers Saturday. And she frowned when I said that's been the only meat I've had in 4-weeks!!!

   I did get the OK to do "Boost" daily if I'm not eating right. And also to absolutely stay off of Centrum or One-a-day vitamins. For some time, it's been thought that multiple vitamins actually feed the cancer cells while your on chemo. Now, the most recent thought is becoming that multiple vitamins (capsules) will feed cancer cells whether or not on chemo.

   I asked about weird foods like .... herring in wine sauce ... smoked fish ... scrambled eggs - all for protein. She said if I feel like it - do it! The chemo I'm on now is known for temporarily and greatly affecting the taste of things.

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good night.

AV: Yes, I did push myself to go get my errands done, after I logged in and read the support it just kind of gave me that extra push to get on out of the house and get things done and work through the fear. I also agree that we can always use more friends, as long as they are good friends and bring something positive into our lives. I tend to let people in because I want friends but sometimes I let in negativity. I'm hoping for nothing but positivity for you in your life as you work on getting over your feelings for your ex.

Myself: I like what you wrote "You need to be a little selfish" I've been told that before and that I give more than I get and I kinda realize that it's something I wan to work on.

Jan: You are so right, some people can really be convincing when we are vulnerable, I never really thought about it like that but I realize when I'm at a low point, I tend to let the wrong people in but at that time I don't see them as being the wrong person to let in.

Rob: Everything has pretty much come together for tomorrow I got up and out and got everything done. Everyone is taken care of and safe and sound tonight and I'm home alone. I got a weekend feeder thing for my fish. Someone from the program where I get my mental health services will be picking me up at 5:00 am with this program that I'm in for now they come to me for most of the services and I go in for some. As far as getting home I was told that the hospital social services can assist you with that if you need it and you let them know once you're admitted. So there's no issues remaining except for me and my fears and anxiety and I'm working on that. I hope that the Boost helps you some and if you have a craving for weird foods then by all means give them a try. I've been working on drinking more water too but I have to add propel water enhancer to it because I don't like plain water but I know I need it.

It's almost midnight, I'm supposed to leave out at 5:00 am I have a feeling I won't go to sleep at all, but I'm going to try. My "friend" that offered to "help" and even babysit was drunk this morning and hasn't answered her phone anymore since then. I'm glad that my therapist talked me out of even thinking about counting on her for anything and I'm glad I didn't let it throw me off too much.

I want to thank all of you for your support, encouragement and advice it really meant a lot to me.

Good Morning Everyone,

We had some bad weather the last few days. It was a task driving to work and home in that rain. What an experience! Internet kept dropping so was not really productive at work. I hear some people experienced some damages to their houses.

HeartfeltOne: Glad you were able to get out and do all those things. Hope all goes well today.

Rob: I remember when my dad was sick, he never drink much water too (and she should of been drinking more). I guess he never felt like it. I hope you can get some rest and feel better.

AV: I agree. Please be careful with this guy. Ensure this friendship is a positive one and not a toxic one :-).

Myself: I'm sorry you had to go through with pain for the tests. Glad yesterday was better for you. Hope today will be good as well.

Michele: We had bad weather too. I hope today's weather is better by you. It's just cloudy here for now.

Rob, you better be chugging that water! I worry about you getting dehydrated. Otherwise, it sounds like the appointment went well. Next timecat White Castle tell them no pickles! Is Gizzy being a good boy?

UA, its weird to think about how much damage wind can cause. We had some really strong winds, not hurricane strength obviously, but it did so much damage here. We had a really intense storm yesterday. Before the arthritis was so bad I loved storms and rain.

Heartfeltone, you are in my thoughts today. I'm so proud of you and I know your daughter must be, too! I hope thos helps you see how strong you are. I am woman, hear me roar!

I hope everyone has a good day. Don't worry about me with this guy. I'm way too busy with the kids and trying to get my life where I want it, I don't have time for drama. I still feel just as in love , which makes me feel stupid to even say, with the ex as ever. He's here often and I like being around him. Its a mess of my own doing.

I wanted to ask for opinions. My back pain is to the point that I can't sleep for more than 2 hours. Its terrible. I've been walking and staying mobile but the pain continues to get worse. The tramadol paired with tylenol isn't providing any relief. Would it be a bad idea to call the pain management dr and ask if I can get something stronger for at night and just until the insurance is straightened and I can try the injections? Normally, I wouldn't but I haven't slept more than a couple hours a night in weeks. I know the inability to sleep adds to the pain. Any suggestions or opinions?

I would ask for something stronger for night, otherwise you are playing catch up all day long and not getting any pain relief. I hope it works out for you to get meds for night time.

Good morning ..........

   It was actually chilly out this morning at 7am. We tried Starbucks this morning - for a decaf take-out + a slice of their banana nut bread!  I checked the calories on that bread once - and it was in the neighborhood of a small Fudge Sundae!

   AV ....... wish I had a suggestion for you for you're pain. Talking to pain management makes sense. I have a lot of respect for you telling it just the way you feel about your ex. A stupid saying maybe - but time will heal.

   UA ....... glad you're OK and that you didn't have any personal grief from the hurricane.

   HFO .......... you're in the hospital now. You made it - got everything taken care of. Heed Jan's words!!!!

Notes:

   A few other things were discovered with my NP yesterday. The results of my echo cardiogram showed my heart is in good shape. My weight loss was very little the past week - so far down 26-pounds in 6 to 7-weeks. And my blood tests yesterday came in well enough that the NP does not want to me to come in next week for blood draws.

   I have a support group meeting in a little over 2-hours. Looking forward to that.

AV- I would absolutely call. The worse thing they can say is no. It's worth it to ask. As you know I've had 4 back surgeries. I completely relate to your pain. Hugs!!!!

Karen- how was berry picking? Did the gkids enjoy?

Rob- I'm sorry I said you suck! But you do! You rub your beautiful cool weather in my face everyday!! Lol!!! How's my innocent Gizmo??

UA- so glad you are safe. Hope the next depression dissipates.

HFO- I've already said prayers for you!! We love you!!!

Well, didn't make it to the store yesterday- MUST go today!! Tutoring again today....hope my brain can handle it.

   I didn't get to the store either. I was waiting for you to come up here - where it's so cool .... so that you could go to the store for me.

   Actually, three days ago, the heat index was up to 98 here! YUK!!!!!!!

   Oh yeah. And I don't have a pool - but I've got a garden hose!

   Gizmo has been mostly good!!! He did wake me up at 1:10am so I could get him some water. I hope my neighbor didn't hear me!@!!! I sounded like an angry Robert DeNiro in "Midnight Express"!!!!

   He went totally ballistic yesterday when we were sitting outside. There must have been about a dozen bikes riding very fast - going down the bicycle path below. He's never done that before - maybe it was cabin fever!

   Then a chick ran buy - and he barked at her!!! She stopped, took off her headphones and gave me a dirty look .... like i trained him to bark at women! And finally, a big golden retriever started to walk by .... Giz went nuts .... and the Golden walked the other way.

   And yet ...... he was afraid of the HVAC repairman three days ago. I don't understand that boy!!!! But that's Giz!@!!!

I called the pain management clinic. The dr said it would be illegal to prescribe a pain medication without physically seeing me in the office again. So, I guesd I just have to hope the insurance is straightened out soon. I'm just exhausted and sick of the pain.

Having a dog is so therapeutic. An animal of any sort, really. That's what I really want.

Busily putting together materials. Working on my third lesson plan, and have prepared a sheet of three suggested productions and two extra-curricular activities.

Woke up with a serious migraine this AM, but the pill finally geared it back. For the first time in months, no bleeding!

Myself, dogs are really wonderful and caring. I don't have any but I have a soft spot for them. Glad the pill is helping your migraine.

Oh boy, having a critter (or more than one) makes life a whole lot better. So much love, love, love, as well as loyalty and inspiration!

UA--good to hear you were unscathed from the storm. You must be on the eastern coast? Congrats about the baby news!

Rob--do you happen to have a special voodoo doll with my name on it? The AC went out yesterday...and it's 97 degrees. I can (kinda) handle it, but please think about little Miss Ginger... :) Thank goodness a repair fellow is on his way over!

Karen--I hope you had a good appointment today and that life is treating you well.
