Meditation is just focussing on your breathing. and clearing your mind. I think we as moderators try to cover every aspect of getting better, but when people don't want to try medication, mindfulness comes to mind. It is just another way of approaching something to help. We generally advise on medication, therapy, walking, mindfulness and
meditation. Others will also advise what have worked for them. If anybody is trying to shove it down your throat, that would be one thing. It has just merely been suggestions. We try to cover every base. We are only moderators, not
doctors. We do the best that we can...
I wanted to add, that in my opinion, mindfulness is the same as staying in the moment. There is a saying, "yesterday is history, tomorrow but a mystery. Today is a gift, that is why it is called the present." Maybe you are just noticing it now more than before. I know you believe it is buddism. But in my opinion, it is not. It will be mentioned now and again. Because it is a good approach to depression...
